When Irish Eyes Are Driving

Notre Dame Drunken IrishAn enterprising young politician confirmed everything I already knew about Ireland.

It’s full of drunken Irishmen.

I mean, Danny Healy-Rae had to be hammered when he put forth legislation that legalized drunk driving, right?

The Irish town of Kilgarvan passed a law this winter that allows members of its community to drink and drive.

Proposed by local pub owner and politician Danny Healy-Rae, the motion allows people who live in country areas to have a few beers before they drive home. Healy-Rae [said] he thinks the measure will help preserve pub culture, lower the risk of suicide and attack isolation in the small town.

Healy-Rae says the law isn’t supposed to apply to everyone.

“I am talking about mainly elderly people who live in very remote places who come to town to get a bit of shopping, enjoy a couple of pints and a chat with friends and then drive home at less than 30 miles an hour,” Healy-Rae [said].

Oh yeah, because the elderly are never involved in auto accidents. Why not liquor them up? /Headdesk

I have to come up with a face palm failure more epic than the Godzilla facepalm…

Someone grab me a Snickers. I might be here a while.

ACTUALLY…according to recent study…the country with the most drunk per poulation is………drumroll……….the CZECH REPUBLIC!!!!!!!!!! Makers of Pils Urquell. Who’d a thunk it?

Dr. Evil is right. I remember being in Prague and watching some city workers going down into a manhole, but they had their lunches out (It was near the Charles Bridge) along with big bottles of Pilsner Urquell. SOP for the CZ Rep. Native Czech food is drab, but, the local beer is awesome!

Why all the the brewhahahahaaaa? They’re getting ready for an EU (pubic) haircut of epic proportions ahead of time. Leave’em alone. Sooner rather than later a good many of us are going to want to be hammered in order to keep from killing our moral superiors and since you lot will have to enforce that insanity I expect you to be right there with me, err, us.
    Cheers mates,

Elderly drunk drivers may soon turn into the recently departed elderly drunk driver. It is probably his way of saving the country some money. The Irish way of cutting back on pensions.
