For years, I have been touting the uber-corrupt politicians of Philadelphia. Every time I do, someone remarks, “Oh Wyatt, Philly politicians may be corrupt, but they’ll never be Chicago-corrupt. Comparatively, you’re still a bunch of pikers.”
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown.
Philadelphia’s Board of Ethics has slapped at-large councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown with more than $20,000 in fines, for campaign finance and ethics violations. Ethics board executive director Shane Creamer says these include reporting violations, excess contributions received by her campaign committee, and improper handling of contributions.
“There were numerous omissions from many campaign finance reports, in 2011 particularly. And there were also some material misstatements in those reports,” he said today.
Separately, she was fined $4,500 for ethics violations involving the use of campaign money for personal reasons.
Blondell, if that is her real name, is in her fourth term. Considering her electorate – made up almost entirely of low-information voters – she will keep her position for a very long time.
As my brother said about the politicians in his state, you have some of the finest politicians money can buy.

This is my surprise face…see it? Let me guess, the same party that started the Civil War, spawned: Jim Crow laws, the KKK, had police chief in Birmingham, AL turn on the fire hose at civil rights protesters, ushered in the income tax on individuals, gave us the ponzi schemes of “social security”, “medicare & medicaid”, and now zerocare. The same party that wants to take away my Second Amendment Right? I give up? Which political party is it? Oh, it’s the dhimmicrats, silly me.
PS: I despise almost all politicians, I am an equal opportunity hater. Understand it’s a necessary evil, but I wish in my “perfect world” that all politicians were part-time and only met for 30 bidness days a year.
