This is Christina Hendricks, Fabulous Babe. (Fabulous Babe is capitalized because that is her official title around these parts.) Christina is a huge star, but when she was first cutting her teat, er, teeth, in the modeling business, she was on the receiving end of some very bad advice.
Namely, the dolts at her modeling agency thought Christina looked ugly with red hair. Brilliance like that should be bottled and sold at state fairs.
The Mad Men star – a natural blonde – changed her hair color when she was modeling early in her career, and despite initial criticism, she decided to keep her flame-colored look after beating off competition from a number of other models thanks to her new bright tresses.
Heh, heh, “beating off.” *snicker*
“When I first started modeling I was blonde. Then I got a job and they wanted to do my hair bright red. I’d always wanted to, but the head of my agency was like, ‘You look terrible, it’s so ugly, you cannot have red hair.’”
Twenty years later, the agency head is cleaning Christina’s car windows on Hollywood Boulevard with Windex and an old pair of underwear.
