Barack Obama: TIME’s Man Of The Year

Barack Obama SmokingThis ridiculous puff piece assumes Obama is a man in the classic sense.

Obama is an arrogant, petulant little man who presided over two scandals resulting in the deaths of Americans, as well as the worst financial crisis in over 80 years. But hey, let’s reward him, because everyone gets a trophy.

President Barack Obama has been named TIME’s Person of the Year for 2012, allowing him the honour for the second time in four years.

The magazine cited the president’s historic re-election as symbolic of the nation’s changing demographics amid the backdrop of high unemployment and other challenges.

This year, Obama edged out Malala Yousufzai, a Pakistani girl shot in the head by the Taliban for advocating girls’ education, for the honor. She was named as runner up.

Well, she certainly didn’t deserve the honor. Has Yousufzai slowed the rise of the oceans, healed the planet, ended the wars, and secured our nation? I think not.

Old NFO – I understand why they chose him – because they’re in the tank for the guy – but to snub the Pakistani girl? Someone who got shot trying to fight for women’s rights?

    War on Women, indeed.

Wyatt, my wife & I had the same reaction, What about the Pakistani girl who was shot trying to get education and free world treatment for Pakistani girls?
What can we expect next from our lamestream media?

Time magazine? They’re still in business? I thought they closed up shop years ago. Maybe I’m confusing them with another irrelevant left-leaning propaganda rag.

John D – I think they ended their dead tree version. They’re only online now, if I recall. They’re also the pieces of garbage who got my blog suspended, so frak them and everyone who looks like them.

Oh how I wish all the old media would just expire. So 20th century. Gee, Adolph Hitler was Time’s whatever back in the day. Not sure if I would want to have that honor. Okay, when they made the U.S. Soldier (2003) their whatever, that was the best one. All the others???

    Oh yeah Eff them too!

  5. Dr. Evil

Just remember, HITLER was once TIME’s Man of the Year…just before Jesse Owens beat Hitler’s plane in a race to win the NEXT TIME man of the year.

I’m betting on the prize for economics. Look how quickly he’s managed to wreck the world’s most powerful economy. No mere mortal could have pulled that off.

I agree with your words, 100%. I haven’t read the magazine in a very long time and will not give it a second thought now. What a poor choice. Its going to be a tough four years.

Give the girl credit, at least she accomplished something.

But that picture of Der Fuhrer is really him – It’s all about MEEEE!

Jim – TIME hasn’t been relevant since the 60′s. And even then . . .

Dr. Evil – I thought Owens beat a Panzer in a race?

    Robert B. – Almost a certainty.

Jack – His second term hasn’t even started yet, and he’s much more arrogant and condescending already.

Sally Anne – And possibly an OMG.

Fenway – Dennis Prager always laments the fact that they got rid of Washington and Jefferson’s birthdays as holidays in favor of “President’s Day.” I agree. Do we need to honor people like Carter, Johnson, Harding, and Obama?

Formwiz – Well I certainly wasn’t posting a pic from TIME Magazine. That’s how I got suspended the first time. Frak them. They get no publicity from me.
