That’s probably what some New Jersey residents are singing to Governor Chris Christie this morning after he laughed it up on SNL this week. Of course, they would have to sing a capella, since many Jersey residents are still without power.
Christie’s timing stinks like Sea Isle’s back bay.
Tens of thousands of New Jersey residents are without power. Many have lost homes and everything else that they have. Some don’t have enough to eat and others are struggling to stay warm.
This is not the time for a responsible leader to go do his self-promoting shtick on Saturday Night Live. But Christie seems so tone deaf that he puts his self-promotion ahead of anything else.
Yes Giuliani went on Saturday Night Live a few weeks after September 11, but that wasn’t a series of gags, it was a serious tribute to those who died in the attacks. It had very little in common with Christie showing off the same routine that he does every time he’s in the vicinity of a video camera. And at a time when New Jersey residents still need help, why is their Governor spending time on a comedy show cracking jokes about what people have been going through?
It’s because Christie has gone through the all-too-common transformation from politician to “celebrity.” In my opinion, he’s failing at both.

I guess to lure him in to the SNL green room he had a trail of Krispy Kreams? Yet he has time to go across the river and yuk it up? The fat man is dead outside of Jersey in elephant land.
“It’s because Christie has gone through the all-too-common transformation from politician to “celebrity.” In my opinion, he’s failing at both.”
Can’t really add anything to that Wyatt.
“It’s because Christie has gone through the all-too-common transformation from politician to ‘celebrity.’”
Maybe it was that hug from President Obumbler that caused it. Is Narcissistic Personality Disorder contagious?
Jim – He wasn’t truly viable in the first place. As much as I enjoy his in-your-face attitude, that only plays in Jersey.
Real – You could remind us he’s fat . . .
John D – Or Clueless Politician Disorder.
His act has gotten old, you can only do it a few times before people yawn and say “next”.
I think it is funny that all the Libs suddenly love him for hugging Obama. But don’t worry they will all hate him again by the time the midterm elections come around.
I heard he was going to star in the new Broadway play, “Requiem for a Twinkie.” I’ll start taking this dude seriously when he has a gastric bypass and looses two hundred pounds. Until then, he is just a walking posterboard for high blood pressure, type II diabetes, sleep apnea, and all other obesity related maladies.
Wyatt: “It’s because Christie has gone through the all-too-common transformation from politician to “celebrity.” ”
******
This is quite…. insightful. This does not bode well for New Jersey.
As his likely opponent will be Booker, it may not be too bad, but losing a Governor’s mansion will be tough.
Wyatt:
Hear he’s in the running to be the NEXT Chris Farley, too.
Makes ‘ya wish for the days of Governor Tom Keane…seriously.
Stay safe.
