Send In The Clowns

Government waste and abuse is nothing new. Every administration has had its share of idiots who equate taxpayer money with “petty cash,” but when your agency is chiefly concerned with asset management, spending $820,000 on a conference – replete with clowns and mind readers – is galactically stupid.

The White House accepted General Services Administration chief Martha Johnson’s resignation after she dismissed two deputies and suspended other employees over the $820,000 conference. The 300-person event at the M Resort Spa and Casino in Henderson, Nevada, included $3,200 for a mind reader, $6,300 on commemorative coin sets, and $75,000 on a training exercise to build a bicycle in 2010. It also included a $95-per-person dinner and reception as well as costs for a clown and a comedian.

“[President Obama] was outraged by the excessive spending, questionable dealings with contractors and disregard for taxpayer dollars,” White House chief of staff Jack Lew said. “He called for all those responsible to be held fully accountable given that these actions were irresponsible and entirely inconsistent with the expectations that he has set as president.”

Uh-huh. Michelle Obama was unavailable for comment, as she was on another taxpayer-funded vacation.

$3200 for a mindreader? Hell for $3199.99 I’ll be their fortune teller.

(Gazing into crystal ball adjusting Carnac hat)…

I see a great tsunami approaching in November. I see golf carts burning on the fairways. I see Bo in an animal shelter with Pelosi in the cage next to him. I see circus clowns running in panic from the Oval Office their size 35 shoes flapping as they run. I see Carney telling the truth
at a press conference (involuntary shudder). I see sons of Obama robbing a liquor store. I see (gasps in horror)
    Moochelle nekked…

The crystal ball then explodes, I see me in the ER.

“He called for all those responsible to be held fully accountable given that these actions were irresponsible and entirely inconsistent with the expectations that he has set as president, and then he blamed Bush!”

    There fix it for you…

Jon – I hope that happens, but if it doesn’t, I’m going to tell Hugh Hewitt, Ann Coulter, Jennifer Rubin and the rest of the Romney PR machine to STFU from now on.

Rob – I heard him yesterday blaming the GOP-led congress for the state of the economy. As if he didn’t control both houses for two years . . . and still didn’t pass a budget.

You know, I was just reading, or saw on TV this very story. Now was it yesterday, or the day before NEVAH!

For those readers not familiar with the Nevada landscape, Henderson is what you put on your expense reports whenever you take a trip to Vegas, which is right next door. (Sounds more frugal!) Anyone care to guess where the delegates spent the bulk of their time when they were not in the “conference”?

The Bunny Ranch is actually closer to Carson City, the state capitol , where you would expect most of the whores to be!

“entirely inconsistent with the expectations that he has set as president”

Yeah. For that kind of money, they could have played 96 rounds of golf, flown to New York and Europe a few times and still had money to fly in chefs from Chicago and Hawaii to cater soirees with big name entertainers at the White House! (I joke. They never spent that little on their own activities!)

Yet the Democrats solution is as always… wait for it… to RAISE TAXES! Ta da!
Yep, lets give government drones MORE taxpayer money. Because it’s obviously being spent so responsibly.
This is just drop in the bucket when it comes to government waste.

Captain – Because as we all know, when we’re over our credit limit, we make MORE purchases on the credit card!
