Obama To Catholics: Drop Dead
By Wyatt Earp | February 2, 2012

I realize this is a heavy topic for the a.m., but as a Catholic, I had to post it. On January 20, the Obama administration decreed that “Catholic universities, hospitals and charities will be compelled to pay for health insurance that covers sterilization, contraceptives and abortifacients In short; the president wants to force Catholic organizations to defy their beliefs.
The president had every opportunity to back down from confrontation. In the recent Hosanna-Tabor ruling, a unanimous Supreme Court reaffirmed a broad religious autonomy right rooted in the Constitution. Obama could have taken the decision as justification for retreat. And it would have been a minor retreat….
But the administration insisted that the University of Notre Dame and St. Mary’s Hospital be forced to pay for the privilege of violating their convictions.
It’s funny how Obama and a lot of liberals believe that their beliefs should trump everyone else’s.
And I have to be honest; I am really starting to despise this man.
Obama chose to substantially burden a religious belief, by the most intrusive means, for a less-than-compelling state purpose — a marginal increase in access to contraceptives that are easily available elsewhere. The religious exemption granted by Obamacare is narrower than anywhere else in federal law — essentially covering the delivery of homilies and the distribution of sacraments. Serving the poor and healing the sick are regarded as secular pursuits — a determination that would have surprised Christianity’s founder.
Both radicalism and maliciousness are at work in Obama’s decision — an edict delivered with a sneer. It is the most transparently anti-Catholic maneuver by the federal government since the Blaine Amendment was proposed in 1875 — a measure designed to diminish public tolerance of Romanism, then regarded as foreign, authoritarian and illiberal. Modern liberalism has progressed to the point of adopting the attitudes and methods of 19th-century Republican nativists. (H/T – Ace)
The good news is that if this goes through, many Catholic bishops have stated they will ignore the law.

Obama To Catholics: Drop Dead
Oh yeah ?
Poop on you buddy.
Starting to despise him? Starting to????
The thing is…you wouldn’t see any of this imposed on, oh…the Muslims in this country.
I shan’t say more, I’m out for blood this morning.
And people laugh at me when I tell them the church photo-ops of Obama and his family are just that, photo-ops. I just get can’t rid of the nagging feeling he is on a first name basis with the anti-Christ. This administration is pure evil. From their assault on Christianity to Fast and Furious, they are despicable and unwilling to take responsibility for their half-a**ed bad decisions and the public bears the brunt of the consequences.
Just the first step toward Sharia Law, make all Christianity submit to Sharia. I like Rick Santorum’s take on this, “the Catholic Bishop’s of America embraced Obamacare & welcomed it now this is the consequence of asking the government do what has always been the job of churches & charities & people of faith.” Sorta reminds one of the story of the monkey hitching a ride on the back of the alligator across the river & way the alligator ate him after he promised he wouldn’t, the alligator said it’s in my nature I can not help myself. So it is with government to take all power & rights unto it’s self.
Doggonit! Where’s the like button for the comments???
But it’s not just the Catholics who should be outraged, it’s EVERY denomination, especially if they’re Bible based. I know a lot of churches have forgotten why they actually exist, but there are some who still remember!
Catholics to other poor female Catholics at risk of breast cancer: drop dead.
MILLIONS of Catholics in this country defy their beliefs every day. How many Catholics do you know that have EVER used a contraceptive? How many go to church every week; hell, how many go once a month? God created everyone equal, except the gays. The list goes on, especially in Philly with the boy touching.
The Catholic church is basically killing itself; if they want to find a reason for their demise, just look in a mirror.
As promised by Kruschev, our children handed the nation over to the commies on a silver platter. They need to be sent to bed without supper. But, that would just invite CPS to descend upon us like an iron fist.
I am not an overtly religious person. However, I WILL stand shoulder by shoulder with all patriotic citizens, regardless of race, color or creed, when we will have to apply the second amendment for real. This no threat, I abhor violence. But, it is a promise you can take to the bank.
Youth is our greatest blessing and greatest curse. As time passed, my anti-religious attitudes were put in their place one after another. My Christian friends and neighbors are the most respectable folks I know. America could use a few million more like them.
Give me liberty or give me death! I won’t be silenced until the firing squad pulls the trigger! Amen.
Bob, you forget, liberals are intellectually and morally superior. Thus, we mere conservatives should just shut up and do as our betters tell us.
Health care and birth control now, who and what you can hire if your a religious institution or person of faith with opposing beliefs, and then what you can preach from the pulpit.
It is happening in Canada and the Scandinavian countries as we discuss this topic. That is our future if we don’t stand up now and stand together.
I’m a Missouri Synod Lutheran and what hurts the Catholic Church, hurts me.
He hates the Constitution. He needs to be rebuked and dismissed! President Obama is now showing his true Chicago roots.
I want him so out, and his minions and czars, too.
Need someone who cleans house!
I understand that there has been a year’s delay in enforcing many of the stricter new rules. Wouldn’t do to have Obama in a fight over religious freedom in an election year, don’tcha know? Obama is hoping that no one notices any of this stuff before 2013.
I blogged about this in outrage too,
http://doubleplusundead.com/2012/01/31/go-bless-yourself/
But then I was reminded about this
http://doubleplusundead.com/2011/07/24/christian-leaders-to-obama-dont-let-these-wingnuts-reduce-the-welfare-state/
They were all happy about Obama telling us what to do until their ox was gored.
I’m still rooting for them to win their lawsuit, but I’m not as outraged for them as I was.
Hoist on your own retard makes me laugh.
As I said in a post this morning, the Obama Administration attempting to force Catholic churches, universities and schools to purchase contraception is the equivalent of requiring the NAACP to purchase Confederate flags.
If they did that the media would be outraged, but since it’s white people of faith… meh.
So, Randall, by the logic of millions of Catholics don’t follow their faith, ergo it is okay to force the institution at large to go against its doctrines; then it should be okay for me to not pay my taxes, since a lot of this administration, which is pushing taxes, don’t pay theirs?
JT – And today he had the gall to appear at the National Prayer Breakfast. Where are the libtards crying about “separation of Church and State?” He is a truly despicable person.
Vicki – I always thought he was wrong on just about everything, but I never said to myself, “I hate this man.” Now I do. I hate him.
MeToo – I wouldn’t say evil, but they have complete and utter contempt for Christianity – and Judaism, for that matter.
793rd – Catholic hospitals would be forced to perform abortions, or suffer penalties. Because, you can’t drive a few miles away to a non-Catholic hospital to kill a fetus.
Kate – Obama is a very anti-religious person, and he takes out his anger at organized religion with stunts like these.
Richard – I’m not the best Catholic, either, but I think abortions are a disgrace and marriage should be defined as one man and one woman. Civil unions? I’m all for them, but changing an institution that has been one man, one woman for thousands of years is a ridiculous notion to me. My gay cousin believes that makes me a homophobe. I don’t lose any sleep over her judgment.
USMC – Dennis Prager has a great line: Most liberals despise religion because liberialism IS their religion. It’s a pretty accurate statement.
Ferrell – And Jews, and Baptists, and Mormons . . . But like I said above, liberals think their beliefs trump everyone else’s because their beliefs are “enlightened.”
Danny – Ron Paul could win the GOP nomination and I would proudly vote for him. America cannot stand four more years of this arrogant imbecile.
Proof – Lord knows the media won’t report it.
Veeshir – This shouldn’t even be an issue. My wife was just reading some of the comments and said, “I couldn’t get my tubes ties at Holy Redeemer, but if I really wanted the procedure, I could have gone to Abington Memorial.”
What is the ratio of Catholic (or religious) hospitals to non-Catholic ones? If you can’t get that desperately-needed abortion at the Catholic hospital, take your business elsewhere. That’s what happens in a free market economy.
Woody – It would be like forcing ROTC programs to be reinstated at Harvard.
Ranba – It’s a non-sequitur. There’s a big difference between some people defying their beliefs on their own and the government forcing them to do so. Similarly, the actions of a few pedophile priests do not trump the belief structure of millions of Catholics.
Ranba: no because those in the administration that don’t pay their taxes are hypocrites too.
My point is that you shouldn’t be the big “church flag waver” when you don’t REALLY follow your religion in the first place.
And if the hospital refuses to offer these types of treatments, then they should not receive ANY support/compensation/payment/etc. from the government.
So, by your logic, if the University of Notre Dame employs a gay married person, then the University has every right to fire that person because of their sexuality, correct?
Not surprisingly, Nancy Pelosi supports Hussein Dolt’s ‘courgeous’ decision. http://t.co/2PKeftbP
If Pelosi insulted Muslims as frequently as she has Catholoics (while claiming to be one, no less) she would have a fatwa issued against her and be joining Salman Rushdie in hiding

Hahahaahahahahhahhahahha………..Man that is a real laugh riot, it will never happen because there is not one charitable Muslim hospital in the US….
611 Catholic hospitals in the US
0 Muslim hospitals
Fenway – It’s even more disgusting when she cites “Church dogma.” It is almost always wrong.
Thomas F – Well, a lot of them are busy FILLING the hospitals.
This abomination was forced down our throats by left-wing Jews, left-wing WASPs, and left-wing blacks.
When is the Catholic Church going to start telling this truth to Catholics and preach it at Mass, CCC classes, and in Catholic schools ?
