Schenectady Goes Full Retard
By Wyatt Earp | October 6, 2011
Personally, I think this policy is as useless as teat on a nun.
The Schenectady Police Department is conducting surveys of the people it tickets, arrests or assists in an effort to improve service to the public. Schenectady Police Chief Mark Chaires on Wednesday urged people to participate in the survey, which he called “a report card” on how the law enforcement agency is performing its duties and how it can improve services.
Survey questions include whether police clearly explained the reason for a stop and how satisfied the person was with how they were treated.
This would be a pretty good initiative if it were more limited in scope. As it stands, the results from those arrested will skew the data. People who have been arrested are not too fond of the police, especially immediately afterward. Their survey results will reflect that.

Somebody in their admin is trying to justify their chair-bound warrior job. “hey Chief . . . I’ve got a great idea”
Several years ago we had to give a similar “survey” form out to every person we had arrested at the time of their release.
All it got was a huge increase in civilian complaints and more promotions to detective but assigned ti Internal Affairs.
Waste of time and energy. I think I have several rips in my jacket based on this dopey program.

Sully – Can. Not. Wait.
Bluwall – We are asked to “debrief” arrestees. They want us to ask them questions about crime in their area, just to write down, “Go f**k yourself.”

I just hope they get the responses on tape.
“Yo, if you give me my crack back I’ll give you an A+!”

Schenectady PD has gained a repuatation for corruption and ineptitude over the last decade….with the laziest or dirtiest cops being protected by the union.
IIRC, they needed to clean house pretty badly, but this is just a bout the stupidest way to go about it.

While you certainly have the right to use any language you want, I also have the right to say when words hurt. Using the term full retard only continues the marginalization of people with special needs. Retards as you call them aren’t stupid. Maybe not as bright as you perhaps but retard doesn’t mean stupid. Sad that in the age of bullying you thought it was okay to use a term like that.
