Raising Cain

There’s a reason GOP POTUS candidate Herman Cain is becoming more and more popular. Part of that reason is because he says exactly what’s on his mind.
And naturally, that’s pissing off toads like the Occupy Wall Street crowd and the union goons backing them.
The Tea Party favorite argued that the plight of the unemployed was their own fault.
“Don’t blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks, if you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself. It is not someone’s fault if they succeeded, it is someone’s fault if they failed,” the ex-Godfather’s Pizza CEO declared.
Cain acknowledged that the banking industry played a role in the 2008 economic meltdown, but argued they were no longer responsible. “They did have something to do with the crisis that we went into in 2008, but we’re not in 2008, we’re in 2011,” Cain said. “…These demonstrations, I honestly don’t understand what they’re looking for. To me, they come across more as anti-capitalism.”
I wouldn’t agree that every unemployed person has only themselves to blame for being unemployed, but I would agree that those who spend their time marching on Wall Street have themselves to blame.
Stop marching, stop railing against the eeeeevil rich, and start looking for another job – because no one is going to come to your home and offer you one.

I don’t know if your site’s been hacked, Wyatt, or if it’s one of those ride-along (or whatever they’re called) hacks that might just be affecting my p.c. on Firefox, but your site’s being redirected to a different page with a starlet [winehouse?] sitting on a toilet video from some “top 10 celebrity sex scandals” crap.
The first time it happened I ran the AVG AV software and it didn’t find any viruses but it’s still something you should investigate.

I agree with andycanuck. I was redirected to a pic of Emma Watson (from the Harry Potter series) sitting on the crapper.

I had the problem in Firefox, too, and it took me to a site that tried to run a virus app (MS Cleaner) that my firewall caught, luckily.

Ferrell – I spent three years wandering around from job to job when I graduated from college. I was pissed about the GHW Bush recession, but I didn’t march, protest, or whine. I kept at it until I landed the police gig.
Was being a Philly cop my first choice? Absolutely not. But it’s an honest job that puts food on the table. I have no regrets.

Plus, let’s be honest, a Black Republican candidate would take votes from Obama just because he’s black.

I’m stuck in a shitty job too, but you know who I’m mad at, not Wall Street, but our government.
These protestors are pissed because “Wall Street” isn’t GIVING them what they want.
I, and the rest of the Tea Party, are pissed because government is preventing us from EARNING what we want.

Herman Caine may be a pretty good choice for VP.
I’m consistent – Obama didn’t have enough experience and Cain (infinitely more experience) is still a bit one dimensional. No political experience. I still like him a lot though. Like Christy- plain talk.

When I graduated from college most (if not all) of the people who worked harder than me did better in the job market. The people who had rich families had a leg up, sure. But I look back and truly believe the rung of life’s ladder I started on was much of my own making.
Three things control the success in our lives. What we inherit from our parents, luck and how hard we work. God gives us 80 years to accomplish something. The outcome for most of us in America is in our own hands.

Cain is moving the conversation more and more to the right, far more effectively than Perry… to say nothing of Romney (which is what I would prefer to say of him — nothing).
Besides, he’s the true outsider in a year when Washington and the Beltway bunch are four-letter words (at least, best described in four-, six-, seven-, 12- and 13-letter words.

I like Cain’s direct speaking style for the same reason I like Allen West, but on his 9/9/9 plan I’d prefer he be more honest and just call it a 27% flat tax (or 18% flat tax with 9% nat’l sales tax if you prefer).
Anyone that has read an economics text book knows that there isn’t a corporation or large business or small business that pays taxes. They either pass the expense onto the consumer or they go out of business.
I caught a piece of a “man on the street” interview with one of the whiners occupying Wall Street that went, “If the rich would just learn to share, we could all live in prosperity”. I laughed so hard I actually saw a rainbow farting unicorn.

It just chaps my hide that a lot of these kids aren’t working and good old mom and dad enable this behavior by letting them live in their basement. Quit enabling your little darlings, have them get a job and do some laundry in between job interviews. Depending on the wind direction, you can smell this crowd in New Hampshire.
