Happy Labor Day!
By Wyatt Earp | September 5, 2011
In honor of the occasion, I wanted to highlight some of the terrific, life-affirming things labor unions have given us these past three decades . . .
Eh, I got nuthin’.

Nice. I have had people approach me about joining the union, and they always had the same kind of wild look in their eye when I suggested that I didn’t need the union. Sacrilege!

Ferrell – Buy American my Aunt Fannie!
Picky – Our FOP is not a union, per se, but they are as useless as one.

Everyone with a brain knows why all the jobs went overseas. U N I O N S!!
UNIONS, protecting stupid people everywhere!

Danny – They prefer to be called “sheeple.”

Right off the top of my head, I can name you two things life-affirming things that unions were responsible for when I was a kid.
A runaway train thru my hometown that was eventually derailed and the murder of 97 people at the DuPont Plaza hotel in Puerto Rico

SEIU, aren’t they the union that was hiring non-union people to picket Wal-Mart to demand worker representation.
September 5th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Ain’t it the truth!!!!!
September 5th, 2011 at 2:44 pm
SEIU was the bunch hiring indocumentados and street rats at $10/hr to pack Town halls in LA…
But look at the bright side of unions. They killed one Hoffa already…

Check Drudge to see how they celebrated the day.
Union thuggery: It’s a feature not a bug.

How about UAW’s greed and incompetence that has lead to an impossibility of American car companies putting out a competitive, fairly priced product out there?
Seriously, I have always prided myself upon owning/paying off an American car. Sometimes I get upset that the Evil Artist drives a Hyundai (even though she loves it and I sold it to her), but when I look at a 20 year 200,000mile warranty coupled with standard blue tooth, steering wheel audio controls, 37 MPG AVERAGE (not highway) I think I’m an idiot for buying American.
When the Magnum goes (AKA: Mini-Hearse, Scarlot Maiden) should I drop 26k on a Dodge Charger with crap standard or 21K on a Hyundai Sonata with all the other stuff listed? Hell even KIA is making a quality product now. Dammit Detroit, South Korean is making you look bad in your own backyard. Shape up, and can someone competent PLEASE take over Chrysler before they go the way of Studebaker, Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, and my beloved Oldsmobile?
This rant has officially ended!

Dr. Evil – Nahhh!
September 6th, 2011 at 2:02 pm
Fenway – Ouch!
RAPH – Good advice for any union goon.
Ingineer66 – Yep. Not exactly the preferred union of MENSA.
Glenn – The sad truth, yes.
Richard – I wouldn’t mind seeing this one disappear, either.
Bob G. – And in most cases, they aren’t needed. Unless sweatshop suddenly open up again.
Veeshir – Aneurysm-inducing. And Obama condones this crap.
Dr. Evil – Since Saturn has been eliminated – thank you, Obama! – my next car with probably be a Honda/Nissan/Toyota. I don’t want to support auto unions anymore.

How did Obama eliminate Saturn?
September 6th, 2011 at 4:43 pm
Randal – He didn’t, GM did. I figured I’d just blame Obama for it like the left blames Bush for everything.
