DoJ Dropping Charges On Terrorism Cases

By Wyatt Earp | April 18, 2011

Why? Because the Obama administration wants to continue currying favor with Muslims and Muslim organizations. Apparently, locking up members of CAIR would reflect poorly on the president.

A number of leaders of Islamic organizations… were about to be indicted on terror finance support charges by the U.S. attorney’s office in Dallas, which had been investigating the case for most of the past decade. But those indictments were scuttled last year at the direction of top-level political appointees within the Department of Justice (DOJ) — and possibly even the White House.

Does anyone believe Obama is serious about fighting terrorism? Hell, the administration is not even serious about fighting crime. This is a despicable story, and it gets worse below the fold.

Of course, CAIR was named as co-conspirators.

Included in those indictments was at least one of the co-founders of CAIR, based on “Declination of Prosecution of Omar Ahmad,” a March 31 DOJ legal memo from Assistant Attorney General David Kris to Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler. A second DOJ official familiar with the investigation independently confirmed these details. Omar Ahmad is one of CAIR’s co-founders and its chairman emeritus. He was personally named, along with CAIR itself, as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror finance trial in 2007 and 2008. During the trial FBI Agent Lara Burns testified that both Omar Ahmad and current CAIR executive director Nihad Awad were caught on FBI wiretaps attending a 1993 meeting of Hamas leaders in Philadelphia.

It’s kind of hard to prosecute someone on material support for terrorism when you have pictures of them getting handed awards from DOJ and FBI leaders for their supposed counter-terror efforts. How would Holder explain that when we’re carting off these prominent Islamic leaders in handcuffs for their role in a terror finance conspiracy we’ve been investigating for years? (H/TAce)

I want someone explain to me how this isn’t treason, but I’ll settle for someone explaining how this is not an impeachable offense.

When the traitors and criminals hold the keys to the public treasury and power there is only one answer. I wonder if WE are ready. The Center CANNOT hold……….

LDIV – I have tried to tone down the political rhetoric here, but this man is a friggin’ disgrace and he has no regard for the rule of law.

The Democrats had better hope that we don’t have another 9/11-scale terrorist attack, committed by Muslims, on our soil before Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi leave office.

With all the crap they’ve pulled, both during George W. Bush’s two terms and now Obama’s presidency – to include Obama’s ongoing worldwide apology tour for America’s wealth and power – they might just end up facing those treason charges…

Completely off topic: I just finished watching “The Kennedy’s” for the second time. Really terrific series, and then I realized there was not one word or mention of Fat Ted (the Swimmer) Kennedy during the entire 8 hours. I don’t blame them because I wouldn’t want that slimeball bastard in my family either.

If that happens, Barack Obama will go down in history as being one of the greatest villains this country has produced. Seriously, the name Barack Obama will become a pejorative, much in the way Benedict Arnold’s name has.

Wes S. – Here they are giving awards to CAIR for their anti-terror initiatives, all while CAIR is funneling money to terrorists. The DoJ is rewarding the terrorists bankrolls!

Watuschski – Good call by the creators.

John D. – I hate the “Worst President Ever” calls, but Obama is definitely in the bottom ten.

This is just beyond the pale, even for him (and Holder)…

Old NFO – I needed to run for the duct tape when I read it. His administration has these people dead to rights – and on wiretaps – and they’re turning a blind eye to it for the sake of political correctness? It’s criminal.

King’s committee is also interested in questioning Holder over this outrage. [Via Weasel Zippers]

Soon he’ll be out golfing with Louie Farrakhan to insure the mooselimb vote from Chicago. Maybe then it will be time for him to get that “army” of organizers..cough cough..that he wanted during the campaign. Isn’t the FBI also arming the Mexican drug cartels too? LOL I can see him perched on his desk like Gollum saying..”Soon my precious, soon!”

Just to fair we probably could have seen Nixon perched on his desk, hashing out his enemies list, just like obambi.

This just in…Non Mooselimb women in Britian are being told to wear the veil or hijab in mooselimb sections of London or…be killed. Aren’t they just cute little critters.

Andy – I’m glad someone is.

Jon – I fear for this country if this man is re-elected.

Rick – Hey, what’s a little corruption between friends? It’s not like terrorists ever did us any harm . . .

Kim – It is truly infuriating. And I still think it borders on treason.

Jon – Yep, and that’s why we placate them, I guess.
