Mondale Rips Obama’s “Idiot Board”

By Wyatt Earp | October 6, 2010

It’s no secret that President Obama is a big fan of the teleprompter; he uses it about as much as I use my bikini zone razors. Of course, when he goes off it, we get such great Obama-isms as the “57 states” remark. Some rip him for his teleprompter addiction, but rarely do the criticisms come from the Left. Until now.

I mean, when Walter Mondale is insulting you . . .

Former Vice President Walter Mondale said on CNN that President Obama relies too much on teleprompters — which Mondale called “idiot boards” — when speaking to the American people.

In a discussion of whether Obama projects empathy in his speeches, the 82 year-old Mondale said the president “has got to connect with the American people.” When CNN host Wolf Blitzer asked why Obama has not shown more empathy, Mondale answered, “I’ve seen places where he’s done it. The Milwaukee speech, I thought was terrific. But I think he — he’s very bright — as a matter of fact, brilliant. And I think he tends to — and he uses these idiot boards to read speeches on television and I think he loses the connection that he needs emotionally with American voters.”

Mondale had a point with the teleprompter usage, but he went off the rails with the “brilliant” remark. Obama is not brilliant. He’s one of those people who has some book smarts, but not a lick of common sense or real world experience. And that is why he fails.

At this point Walter Mondale should be advising the President on how not to lose 49 out of 50 states in the 2012 election.

And the 50th state being questionable.

Ferrell – One can only hope he gets clobbered at the polls as badly as Mondale did.

It is getting bad when loons like Mondale calls you out.

That, and he’s wedded to a left-wing ideology that has a consistent track record of failure everywhere it’s been used.

    Clearly Mondale is a racist.

Walter Mondale, the only person from a major party to lose an election in all 50 states.

Idiot board! I like that -also accurately describes the comments section in many libtard blogs.

On the rare chance you missed this one…

Obama states the Constitution was written over 20 centuries ago.

Obama has NO emotional connection with anybody but Obama. Anyone thinking differently is making a dangerous mistake.

Whenever I hear the name Walter Mondale, I think about the game show Press Your Luck, and in particular, the whammy who said, “Vote for me and I will raise your taxes!”

Walter Mondale, the only person from a major party to lose an election in all 50 states.

Wrong. Mondale carried his home state of Minnesota in 1984. Over 2 million votes were cast in that state, and the margin of victory was less than 3,761 votes (or two-tenths of a percent).

BZZZ! Sorry, I’m right. In 2002 Mondale ran for Paul Wellstone’s Senate seat and lost. I never said it was in the same election. Only fringe party candidates for President can make the same claim.

You know it’s bad when Walter Mondale says something that makes sense. This is a once in 100 years occurrence.

Rick – Yeah, he’s not exactly the mensch of politics.

    John D – But the Soviets had a good run . . .

    Ingineer66 – Obviously.

Fozzy – I was gonna say something, but I read ahead. Well played.

AJ – And 90% of my posts here. But in fairness, I am an idiot, so . . .

    Kaveman - *facepalm*

Richard – And possibly Michelle when she demands attention.

Morgan – Raising taxes doesn’t help an economy? Who knew?

    Fozzy – Again, well played.

    Bob – At least!

    Damn, Fozzy! Well played, indeed.

I love one of the retort comments on that Youtube clip:

“Yep. 20 Centuries ago Jesus wrote the Constitution.”

    classic. :-D
