Ed Rendell: Big (Fat) Brother

By Wyatt Earp | September 15, 2010

Are you a member of the Tea Party? Do you think the local, state, and federal government is out of control? Have you ever attended a tax protest here in Pennsylvania?

If so, the Ed Rendell’s Pennsylvania Department of Homeland Security may consider you a terrorist:

An activist who believes he was improperly included on a state terror threat list said this morning he is preparing a federal lawsuit.

Gov. Ed Rendell said Tuesday he is “deeply embarrassed” by the disclosure that state Homeland Security officials included information about protesters on what was supposed to be a list of possible terrorist threats.

[Harrisburg resident Gene] Stilp said he believes he was among those monitored based on Rendell’s comment that the 25-foot inflatable “pink pig” that Stilp takes to rallies was included in the monitoring. Stilp owns the pig and frequently displays it at the Capitol at protests over what he sees as government excesses. Stilp said an outside investigation is warranted, by the attorney general or federal authorities.

As for Rendell, who oversees Homeland Security, Stilp said, “Being embarrassed doesn’t cut it.”

Stilp is absolutely correct. Rendell’s embarrassment doesn’t cut it. Neither does his faux apology. He’s the governor (thankfully, for not much longer), so his claim of ignorance about the list is bulls**t.

Exit question: How many anarchist protesters are on PA’s terror threat list?

Wyatt, I wonder if they are also monitoring the commenters here. If not, that may be next. This place is full of Tea Party and Second Amendment types.

Geez I hope they aren’t monitoring here, then they read my posting calling obambi a pr*ck about 20 times the other day. OH NOES!!! I might get banned from America
and sent to live with that 17 yr old kid. Just because obambi and his Homeland Security henchmen are all pr*cks. Will I have to put him through college if they do?
After he’s 18 he can bring back some hot college babes though so it might not be all bad.

Yeah but wasn’t it only the evil Patriot Act Republicans who were trampling on our civil rights… Oh how I long for the days when it was Bush violating our rights. At least he kept us safe and our enemies scared in the process.

It looks like the liberal progressives are swaeting. Are they going to start checking for papers next. Maybe BO had something when he berated PA citizens as God loving gun owners.
Fast Eddie is an embarassment to all PA residents. This buffoon ran PA into debt, hired his crony friends and can’t resist a chance to get before a camera. Anytime a fill in is needed, the networks know they can go to him , he always in makeup. I am expecting him to show up on YO Gabba Gabba

    I own a gun.
    I am conservative.
    I homeschool.
    I believe is states rights.
    I believe in individual rights.
    I believe in personal responsibility.
    I am not politically correct.

I guess I belong on a list somewhere too.

Robert B. – Put me on the list. A lot of Dems think the police are enemies of the state, anyway.

Jon – The way this economy is going, Britain might be the better play.

Watuschskie – Oh, you are just the seed of Satan, aren’t you? ///

Captain – Wait, our enemies aren’t scared? (Looks at story of Ground Zero Mosque.) Oh, never mind.

Crusty – Not Yo Gabba Gabba! I love that show! Muno (the cyclops) is the shiznit!

Kim – You’re in my left sidebar. It’s where all the cool terrorists hang out.

Rendell will be surprised at how big the list will be when his anointed one, Onoratso, gets thumped in November.
Remember, Republican voters are a threat to the Democrats’ job security.

Bob – I really don’t think Onorato has a chance. Corbett is a good guy, tough on crime, and has been a terrific A.G.

I think it’s funny. Yesterday when the story broke, Fat Eddie made it sound like a corporate conspiracy spying on the tree-huggers. Now, today, when more facts come out, Fat Eddie realizes they were spying on everyone! Too funny.

Kaveman – Understood. (Runs out to the backyard.)

Smite – There are probably more Americans on the PA terror list than Muslims.

AJ – The man really needs to go out and buy a clue.

JT – Also understood. (Runs back into the house.)

Wyatt, there are probably more Americans on the Federal Watch List than there are actual terrorists.

And I’m pretty sure I’m one of them. American on the FWL, that is, not a terrorist.

    Jon – Well played.

So Gene Stilp is on the watchlist because he totes around a large, inflatable pink pig as an act of protest? In that case, Roger Waters must be on the list too. He still has that big “Animals” pig blimp from his Pink Floyd days, and he’ll likely have it along when he brings “The Wall” tour to Philly…

As for anarchists, well, Ed Rendell might want to start paying some attention to them. Two days ago right here in the Kansas City metro one of those assholes attacked and cut the throat of Al Dimmit, the dean of instruction at a local community college.

The anarchist’s intended target was Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (one of Rendell’s fellow Democrats, as it happens) who was slated to speak that day at Penn Valley Community College…and the scumbag, a Penn Valley student who bragged about being arrested for protesting the Toronto G-20 summit, attacked Dimmit by mistake.

    http://www.kansascity.com/2010/09/15/2227388/nixon-was-intended-target-of-assailant.html

Governor Nixon’s plane had just arrived at KC’s downtown airport. His appearance was immediately canceled once news of the attack broke. Dimmit survived and the suspect, Casey Brezik, is facing multiple charges.

Brezik is reportedly “disappointed” that he didn’t actually get Nixon…

Funny how it’s the Tea Party folks who are always being harassed and smeared as prone to violence…while all the actual violence is being committed by the Left.
