Merry Gun-Toting Christmas!
By Wyatt Earp | October 23, 2009

I guess this guy wanted to cement his NBA street cred a little early.
Former Temple University basketball star Dionte Christmas is facing charges after he was found with a handgun during a traffic stop Thursday evening.
Officers stopped Christmas for driving erratically in North Philadelphia at about 7:30 p.m. Officials said he was operating a vehicle without a license and he had a 9mm semi-automatic handgun under the driver’s seat.
The vehicle and the handgun reportedly were legally registered to Philadelphia 76ers’ Marresse Speights. (H/T – CBS3)
Dionte Christmas could have gone anywhere. He went to Temple jail!

“The vehicle and the handgun reportedly were legally registered to Philadelphia 76ers’ Marresse Speights.”
I’m not a cop or a lawyer, I just pretend to be one since I have an Oregon Concealed Handgun License.
heh
But that statement, in my opinion would serve as reasonable doubt.
If the car and the gun belonged to somebody else, who’s to say he knew the gun was under the seat?
Which brings up another issue of who in the hell loans someone their car without removing the gun under the seat?
Maybe I’m just not as smart as those people who put orange balls through orange hoops.

Another question or two here, why does he not have a driver’s license and why would someone let him drive his car if he did not have one. I would also presume he does not carry auto insurance either. Then you have the “erratic driving” as well. Oh, maybe that was because he just needed the practice since he was not licensed to drive.
I wonder if the word idiots is too strong a term here.

All that money and these morons still can’t keep from breaking the law?
I guess they did not get the money from having a lot of common sense.

Handgun under the seat and excessively-tinted windows on the car. No-o-o, the NBA isn’t full of street thugs! Say what you want about the Phillies, but absent JC Romero’s incident, they have to be the cleanest sports team in town!

Gun under the seat? I bet he is thanking God they didn’t find his weed…
