Delonte West: Aspiring Gunman?

This just goes to show you that you can play on a terrific college basketball team – Saint Joseph’s, my alma mater – alongside a class act like Jameer Nelson, and still be a frakkin’ mess.
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Less than 24 hours after saying he was focused on basketball, Delonte West skipped Cleveland’s first day of practice.
The Cavaliers’ troubled guard did not show up for Tuesday’s morning workout to the surprise of coach Mike Brown, and missed the evening session at Cleveland Clinic Courts.
General manager Danny Ferry said West, who has been treated for bipolar disorder, was not in any harm.
West, who has battled depression and mood disorders for years, was recently arrested for gun possession in Maryland after police pulled over his three-wheel motorcycle for a traffic violation and found he was carrying three loaded weapons — two handguns and a shotgun in a guitar case he had on his back. What, was he auditioning for the Desperado sequel? Here’s hoping he gets the help he needs, and that some of Jameer Nelson’s class rubs off on him.

He honestly sounds like he needs his medication to be adjusted or to make sure the medication he is taking doesn’t cause the wacky side effects that we hear about, because of the odd behavior they cause.
I feel bad for him. Hope gets the help he needs.

I was thinking it sounds hot and then I knew it was since I agreed with the host.
Bi-polar with 2 handguns, a shotgun and on a 3 wheel motorcycle; I am surprised this ended as well as it did. The guy needs meds but they probably affect his play so he stops taking them and then the bizarre behaviors start. Next thing ya know, he’ll be duct taping a cat.
Maybe someone should educate this shining star on how to properly transport firearms through various states. While it is conceivable in all but MD, NJ, NY, & IL that you could (if you have the right permits) carry loaded handguns, few if any states allow for the transport of encased loaded shotguns.
Gun laws are a mess. And apparently, this guy is as well.
