A Big Day At The Earp Ranch

By Wyatt Earp | August 9, 2009

anniversary

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary. The beautiful woman in the photo is Mrs. Earp.

I would like to say that it feels just like yesterday when we walked down the aisle, but twelve years, four children, one promotion, and a major house renovation later, it feels like decades ago.

Not to say it hasn’t been great, but we both looked at each other on Friday night and said, “Oh, it’s our anniversary on Sunday” – before shrugging our shoulders and putting on the TV. We’re not much for parties or lavish celebrations anymore – too tired – but we’ll go out to dinner (sans kids) one night in Sea Isle City next week during our vacation. That should be suh-weet.

As far as married life goes, it’s been pretty darned swell. The missus and I rarely – if ever – fight, we give each other our space when it’s needed, and do our best to juggle the kids during the day. I tell her she needs to stop watching her “stories,” and she tells me I need to stop blogging. (For the record, she has been asking me to quit for about three years now, but I’m gonna outlast her.)

Other than that, it’s a special day that will be spent in the usual manner – I have to work while she wrangles the kinfolk. Life is good.

Never try to tell a woman to give up her “stories.” Trust me.

    Happy Anniversary!

(And tell Mrs. Earp she can e-mail me anytime to vent about GH!)

How long has she put up with you? Twelve years! Well I will give you one piece of advice. If she says you better stop blogging then you may want to consider the alternatives a little more closely then you have ;-)
