Commerce: US To Pay For China’s Emissions

You know, the interesting part about the HopeyChangitude we were promised from Barack Obama is that there wasn’t really any mention of how debilitating it would be to our economy. At this point, our wallets are crying out, “No Mas!” but the Obama administration is apparently hard of hearing.
Not only are we about to get the trillion-dollar ObamaCare debacle stuffed down our throats, but Commerce Secretary Gary Locke now wants us to pay for China’s pollution. Because, you know, they refuse to clean up their emissions.
It’s bad enough that the Obama administration wants to penalize all Americans for their energy use through the cap-and-tax scheme that will hobble our economy and hike electricity and gas costs, but until now they only proposed to penalize us for our own energy use. With China refusing to join the West in economic suicide, who will pay for their emissions? Commerce Secretary says that the American consumer is to blame for China’s energy-production emissions — and we’ll pay for that instead of the Chinese:
“It’s important that those who consume the products being made all around the world to the benefit of America — and it’s our own consumption activity that’s causing the emission of greenhouse gases, then quite frankly Americans need to pay for that,” Commerce Secretary Gary Locke told the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.
How appropriate, since the American taxpayer is about to get Shanghaied into footing this ridiculously enormous bill. Ed Morrissey once again writes what we are all thinking:
The US does not need to pay for China’s carbon emissions, even if the “greenhouse effect” presents a danger to the planet, a theory which increasingly looks suspect. This is yet another version of the blame-America impulse in the Obama administration, one that will hit us all in the wallet — and in our outlets and furnaces. (H/T – Hot Air)
Amen to that. By the time 2012 rolls around, most of us won’t have enough money for Five Guys hamburgers, let alone cab fare to Canada.

Shouldn’t we also have to pay for the explosives and bullets and hardware the terrorists use to kill us too? If it weren’t for us to hate they wouldn’t be doing it. Oh thats right we gave $900 million to Hamas already. D’oh!

Maybe we should just have a new obamaton salute similar to the old gladiator salute, every time obama comes by we intone..”We who are about to pay, salute you”. Would that make him happy? Its all about his being happy ya know.

We have to look like the biggest horses asses on the planet to the rest of the nations. BHO would do well to remember Churchill’s words “An appeasor is one who feeds the crocodile, hoping it will eat him last”. We are going to be swallowed whole by socialism if we don’t start saying “No” to this president, who by the way, does throw like a girl. I think we should start with schoolyard taunts. Those do seem to bother him. Very think-skinned that appeasor we have.
