I like the Pronger deal, Wyatt. This Flyers team missed Hatcher’s attitude on the blue line last season. And, really, Hatch was pretty damned effective in his own zone. He couldn’t skate a lick and wasn’t good in end-to-end action, but in his own zone he was very effective. Hatch could get inside people’s heads in a way no Flyer D-man could last season. Pronger brings that, plus a cannon from the point (also missing last season). Sbisa might be very good some day… might. Lupul is what he is, a nice scorer, but too damned inconsistent. He’d go on a five-game tear, then vanish for 15 games.

Personally, I thought the Flyers gave up too much for a defenseman who will be 35 when the season starts

I said the same thing about Guerin, if you remember, and boy, was I wrong.
