Three Pittsburgh Police Officers Murdered

By Wyatt Earp | April 4, 2009

Jesus. Please pray for the officers and their families.

PITTSBURGH — A man opened fire on officers during a domestic disturbance call Saturday morning, killing three of them, a police official said. Friends said he had been upset recently about losing his job and that he feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.

Three officers were killed, said a police official at the scene who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Police spokeswoman Diane Richard would only say that at least five officers were wounded, but wouldn’t give any other details.

Completely unacceptable! There’s a reason for this rash of violence against police officers, which I’ll explain at the end of the post.

The man who fired at the officers was arrested after a several-hour standoff. One witness reported hearing hundreds of shots.

Police did not immediately release the gunman’s identity, but his friends identified him as Richard Poplawski, 23. They described him as a young man who thought the Obama administration would ban guns. (H/TFOXNews)

It is my sincere hope that Poplawski dies a very painful death before he rots in Hell.

In my opinion, there is only one reason for the steady increase in violence against police officers. The reason is simple: The thugs are not afraid of cops anymore. And why should they be?

* Criminals file unfounded complaint after unfounded complaint against us because we locked them up and our supervisors – in their “community policing” mode – swallow their stories like tripe.

* The bosses want us to crack down on crime, but they only want us to do it without offending the thugs’ sensibilities.

* Finally – and maybe most importantly – we are not allowed to thoroughly stomp people when they so desperately deserve it.

Mass shootings and assaults on police officers were not as bad an epidemic twenty years ago, because the thugs knew that if they tried that crap, they would get their asses kicked – at best. Nowadays, people can punch, kick, or shoot at a police officer, and if the officer retaliates, the bosses put him or her on desk duty. And when that happens, THE THUGS REALIZE THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF NONSENSE!!!

Until things change, shootings like this one will continue. Guaranteed.

  1. cbullitt says:

Wyatt, This guy was a wannabe head-case. HE bombed out of basic and was thrown out of North Catholic High School.
As Chief Nate Harper just said in his 3 p.m. presser, the swat team that took him into custody showed “remarkable restraint and professionalism.” Meaning, they could have taken him out no questions asked.

  2. Mrs. Crankipants says:

Then, there are the newspapers that scream police brutality and interview the thug’s family who swear on a stack of bibles that he was a good boy.

    It must be so frustrating.

  3. Kim says:

I am so sorry! I will be praying for the families and continue to pray for your safety.

  4. Earl says:

There seem to be crazy people with guns everywhere, one would be safer not going out the door. Will pray for those officers and their families and friends.

  5. Diller says:

Amen,Wyatt, feel terrible for those officers and their families. It was just senseless.

  6. AJ Lynch says:

Most states refuse to use the death penalty even when it involves a cop-killer. Instead, we spend millions letting scum like Mumia make endless appeals of his death sentence.

  7. Rick says:

My rayer are with the familes of the fallen officers and all of the Thin Blue Line.

  8. Rick says:

    It should read prayers.

  9. RT says:

    Just awful.

  10. MUD says:

On the radio they reported that this thug had a bulet proof vest on. Shit oh dear. MUD

  11. USA_Admiral says:

We are really spinning in the toilet now. Anarchy is the next stop.

  12. Alan B says:

    Desparate tragedy for the families.

Death sentence for cop-killers serves 2 purposes:
    1) The scumbag is removed from decent society and
    2) The other scumbags hear and fear.

Not enough good honest fear around (don’t misquote – you know what I mean!)

  13. Robert B. says:

My prayers for the families of these brave men.
A pity the lefties will use this incident as justification to further erode our Second Amendment.

  14. Another incident that makes me wish I was back in Indiana, where they execute cop killers instead of coddling them in prison.

  15. Wyatt Earp says:

cbullitt – And I’ll bet they wanted to beat his ass.

Mrs. Crankipants – You try not to take it too personally. Otherwise, you’d go insane.

    Kim – Thanks you.

Earl – You are so right.

Diller – And after the Oakland thing, even more so.

AJ – As long as he never gets out alive.

Rick – Figured as such. Thanks.

    RT – Terrible.

MUD – You would be surprised how easy they are to acquire. Another reason why 9mm rounds are useless today.

Admiral – Embrace it. That’s what I’m doing. (Cocks pistol.)

    Alan B – I do indeed.

Robert B – I hope that doesn’t happen, but I fear it will.

    Prof – Or Texas.
