Well, in a nutshell, you cannot make history “never happen”. Just because you changed the record, does not mean that any historical event did not occur. doing so (changing the record) is stupid – you are destined to make the same mistakes when you do that… the liberals in this country really are killing the greatness that is America. Freedom is all about having the ability to have different beliefs and not be punished for it. the Left will say you are not being “understanding” and “accepting” of those different beliefs, but, all the wile, they are not “Understanding” and “accepting” of any belief that conflicts with thiers… “Damn the facts, it’s all about how I feel” should be the Democrat / liberal / leftist / Socialist / Progressive (any group that has so many names should never be trusted) motto…

I’m going to protest that this be changed to Autumn Out-Of-School Festival. Using the word “weekend” in the title discriminates against weekdays and could lead to severe self-esteem issues for Tuesday, which tends to feel left out anyway.

In addition, “Fall” is a negative connotation that this season could lead to injuries. The season already has enough issues because of lost leaves without adding to the stereotyping. It’s a seasonal form of racism.

So there.

Well. If you ignore the Vikings at about 1000 A.D., the first European to land on North American soil was John Cabot. While having foreign ancestory, John Cabot sought financial backing from England and sailed under the English flag.

So, YES change the name of Columbus Day by all means – he only discovered the Bahamas. But change it to the “English” explorer to whom you owe the re-discovery of North America:

John Cabot Day.
