Sex Offender Kills While Under Monitoring
By Wyatt Earp | March 13, 2009
How the frak does this happen?
And where the Hell were the police who were monitoring the offender (at left) via GPS?
Some people need to get their asses fired over this, post haste!
VANCOUVER, Washington — When 13-year-old Alycia Nipp didn’t come home from a trip to Wal-Mart, her family had no idea where she was, but a tracking device was transmitting the location of her alleged killer.
Her family thinks her free-spirited nature may be the reason she walked through a field popular with transients — a field she’d been warned to stay away from and where her body was found February 22.
Darrin Sanford, 30, was one of several homeless people living near the field in an abandoned home slated for demolition, police said.
He was convicted in 1998 of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and luring minors with sexual motivation; he was sentenced to probation, said a Clark County sheriff’s report. When he was released from jail in January, following a November probation violation, Sanford was fitted with a global positioning tracking unit on his ankle, according to the Washington Department of Corrections.
Sanford was wearing the device seven weeks later when he tried to rape Licy before beating and stabbing her in a field a couple of blocks from the street where she lived, according to police. (H/T – CNN)
Unbelievable. What a tragedy for Nipp’s family.

Sanford should have been fitted with a noose, and put on display for his fellow sicko’s to view. Have not seen much success rehabilitating those offenders, think castration would be much cheaper and more reliable than GPS devices .

That this SOB only got probation should be cause for the judge to resign. Give high extremely high recidivism rates are, sex offenders get off way to easy.
Put ‘em all on a garbage barge and let them rape each other.

Where the hell was the little girl’s parents. They should be held partly responsible for not making a good impression on the little girl. Yes, a hand print on the backside would work. The sex offender should go to prison for the rest of his life but be kept in segregation the entire time. No sex camp for someone that likes it.

The GPS monitor was what is considered a PASSIVE device, which only transmits the information of the offender’s whereabouts once a day.
But an even more important consideration: Even ACTIVE monitoring would NOT have helped the police. If a cop happened to be watching the computer screen, it only would have shown the offender in the middle of a field, but would not have shown what he was doing.
DOJ says that recidivism of registered sex offenders across the board is 3.5%.

Way to go, system! You let another bastard go off easy, and he kills a little girl. But, hey, you were tracking him, so you can’t be blamed for much, right?
Well, you just go ahead now and continue your twisted ways of serving justice, you ass%?$!

I don’t know there’s any evidence that castration is effective, although doing it with a rusty can lid ought to help.
There is evidence that the noose works.
Personally, I’d like to see child molesters impaled.

The Turks used to take captured Russian officers and sharpen a stake about waist belt high. Junior officers whose hands were tied behind their backs would be lifted up and anally impaled. As time passed as they screamed and tried to remain concious and upright they began to bleed out and slowly sank onto the pole more and more. it took a long long time. The remaining Russian officers then told everything they knew to recieve a merciful bullet in the head. sounds like we can reinstitute this..N’est Pas?

Just goes to show that prison doesn’t rehabilitate these psychos.

Unfortunately, life does not mean life over here but segregation is used. Otherwise serious offenders would be torn apart by other inmates. A murderer convicted of sexual assault of his/her victim would probably not survive otherwise.

Mud, I live here in Vancouver. and the story doesn’t tell it all. that field is used by all the kids, it’s a short cut. Granted she shouldn’t have been there. but all the blame rests on this loser and the state of Washington. Their mamby pamby ways of trying to rehab these losers is atrocious! He needs to be strung up and the judge also, along with about 90% of the government officials here!!

I am all for GPS tracking chips. However, the ankle really isn’t a good place for them. Instead the best thing to do is to drill a half in hole through the front of the forehead, and go back about a good six inches. You then put your GPS chip inside that hole. This device has an added advantage, in that it is one hundred percent effective at preventing all future crimes. Also works great for terrorist and hippies.
