Philadelphia Needs A Bounty Hunter

PHILADELPHIA — Court officials in Philadelphia say people who are released on bail but don’t show up for their trials owe the city more than $1 billion.
Court officials compiled their first ever tally of bail jumpers in the city at the request of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Before the newspaper raised the issue, the magnitude of the problem was unknown. Court officials initially told the Inquirer that only $2 million was owed.
A criminal defendant in Philadelphia is usually freed after paying 10 percent of the bail. Defendants who show up for trial get that money back, minus a small fee.
People who don’t show up forfeit the 10 percent and owe the remaining 90 percent, but the city has made little effort to collect that money. (H/T - FOXNews)
And there it is. Do you want to know why this city is going down the toilet? Do you want to know why our idiot mayor closed seven fire stations? Do you want to know why Philadelphia is fast becoming Detroit-East? Look no further. Between the bail jumpers and the Tom Daschle Memorial Tax Evaders, this town could easily recoup the $2 billion needed to get the books back into the black.
Unfortunately for us little people, the Democrat administration makes little effort to collect. I wonder why that is?
Anyone have any ideas?

Outsource everything but police, fire and trash collection.
Be the first city to outsource mayor and city council to India.

Abduct the governor and mayor, tie them to a tree and charge people $10 to smack them in the face with a wiffle bat.
All money goes to the treasury.

Get rid of gerrymandering and allow only one person to be allowed the label of independent in given council race. This way, the vote isn’t split six ways from sunday and in the incumbent reelected with 30% of the vote. Competition will foster accountability.

Get me a gun, some garbage bags, and a full tank of gas. And keep your pals on the force off my ass.

Why are there no bail bond companies? They would absorb any losses, but the best part is that they actually have bounty hunters who can and will track down these criminals.

Unbelievable.

They don’t want to arrest all the people who voted them in.

I don’t know where Fox news got their idea of how bail works, but they’ve got it wrong. The defendant puts up 10% of the bail, but the bondsman puts up the rest. If the defendant jumps bail, the bondsman is out the bail, not the government.

AJ - “Thank you, come again!”
Kaveman - I’d be good for about $1,000.
Prof - He’ll know what to do!
Joe Mama - This is the result of 60+ years of uninterrupted Democrat rule.
AJ - No problem. We can’t afford to maintain our police vehicles, anyway.
Savannah - I wish I could answer that one.
Admiral - Unfortunately, here it is very believable.
BobG - And there it is. The criminals are the Philly politician’s voter base!
Extremist - Not in Philadelphia. We don’t have bail bondsmen here. All bail is transacted through a bail commissioner, and while the 10% is paid by the offender, the city is left holding the bag when the offender runs.
Welcome to Philadelphia.
Smite - Because most of us know that we’ll be spending time in prison if we don’t pony up. The criminals? Not so much.
