The British Govt. is proposing taking some of the detainees who do not want to go back to thier own countries.

I vote for closing Gitmo and leaving the prisoners there. Let Cuba and the rest of the Arab world worry what to do with them. Unless you can arrange for a bout a half dozen off duty Philly Police officers to hunt them down. MUD

Releasing those people to their home countries is a death sentence in many cases. Not that I’d know about this stuff *cough cough*, but the detainees get pretty terrified if they are told that they will be turned over to the authorities in their own country. Naturally there’s a risk of the jackasses escaping/being released and coming back to cause damage to us, but it’s more likely they will suffer a lot worse punishments back home in Whoknowswheristan than they are “suffering” in our care. Who’s going to fuss about habeas corpus when these people are a pile of headless corpses?
