Dems: Burris Not Welcome In Senate
By Wyatt Earp | January 2, 2009

Not only is disgraced Illinois Governor Rod “Trump Hair” Blagojevich’s choice of Obama Successor not welcome on the floor, some Democrat aides are stating he could be stopped by the Capitol Police.
The man tapped by Illinois’ embattled governor to fill an open U.S. Senate seat will be turned away if he arrives for Tuesday’s inauguration of new members, according to two Democratic aides.
Roland Burris, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s pick to fill President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, will not be allowed on the Senate floor, according to the aides — one who is familiar with Senate Democratic leaders’ plans, and the other an aide to the Senate Democratic leadership.
So let me see if I have this straight: A former high-ranking member of the Ku Klux Klan, a lousy drunk who was responsible for the death of a campaign staffer, and a man who hid $90,000 of dirty money in his freezer are welcome on the Senate floor, but Burris isn’t? Wow.
Blagojevich, who denies wrongdoing and has ignored calls to resign, named Burris — a Democrat and a former Illinois state comptroller and attorney general — to serve the last two years of Obama’s Senate term.
A corrupt governor from a corrupt city in a corrupt state names a (seemingly) scandal-free politician to Obama’s seat, and the Beltway Dems are going to throw a fit about it? Am I missing something?
The first Democratic aide said if Burris tries to enter the Senate chamber on Tuesday, the Senate doorkeeper will stop him. If Burris were to persist, either trying to force his way onto the Senate floor or refusing to leave and causing a scene, U.S. Capitol police would stop him, the aide said.
Paging Cynthia McKinney! Is it wrong of me to hope that Burris makes a scene, gets mildly tuned up by the Capitol Police, and a war erupts between the Democrat leadership and the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Break out the popcorn, kids!
“They [police] probably won’t arrest him,” but they would call the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms, the aide said. (H/T – CNN)
Well, forget that last wish. This guy is the current Sergeant at Arms of the U.S. Senate:

You’ve got to be kidding me. The guy looks like a Bible salesman. There’s no way he is scuffling with a 71-year old man and winning that battle. It’s too bad, too, because Democrat infighting is one of my favorite spectator sports.

But, but, but… Obambi’s such a Uniter™! There’s no way that there could be any acrimony or in-fighting, between anyone, much less the
DonksCommunists in Congress, with his ascension to the throne!January 2nd, 2009 at 11:15 am

Burris? Clean? Chicago Machine Pol? Go to any of the Chicago rags and read about Burris. The Illinois Combine runs the state of Ill., and you can be a member of either party to join. This is just getting better and better. I hope they all screw each other like they have screwed the Police and the public……….

Admiral – It always is.
B.C. – Orville Deadenbacher’s® Heh.
LDIV – Don’t misunderstand. I don’t think he’s clean, I just think he’s relatively scandal-free for Chicago. By his very nature, there’s something wrong – he is from Chicago, after all. I just find it funny that Robert Byrd, William Jefferson, et al get passes, but they’ll use force to stop Burris?
And when, oh when, will we hear from Obama on this?
