9 Muslims Kicked Off Plane After Remark

By Wyatt Earp | January 2, 2009

airtran-logoHere we go again.

Muslim passengers say something about security, other passengers notify the authorities, and the Muslims are escorted off.

Expect CAIR and the ACLU to claiming the Muslims were unfairly discriminated against in 3 . . . 2 . . .

WASHINGTON – Nine Muslim passengers were kicked off a flight from Washington, D.C., to Florida after other passengers reported hearing a suspicious remark about airplane security.

AirTran Airways spokesman Tad Hutcheson called the incident on the New Year’s Day flight from Reagan National Airport to Orlando, Fla., a misunderstanding, but defended the company’s response. He said the airline followed federal rules and did nothing wrong.

Good. Right or wrong, he should defend the company’s response – if it was made in good faith and with concern for the safety of the other passengers.

One of the Muslim passengers, Kashif Irfan, told The Washington Post the confusion began when his brother was talking about the safest place to sit on an airplane.

“My brother and his wife were discussing some aspect of airport security,” Irfan said. “The only thing my brother said was, ‘Wow, the jets are right next to my window.’”

Then your brother and his wife are jackasses, Mr. Irfan. The scene in Meet the Parents was over the top, but it contained nuggets of truth. You don’t say “bomb” on an airplane, and you don’t discuss “some aspect of airport security” on one, either.

Isn’t it interesting that Mr. Irfan doesn’t know exactly what his brother and his wife were discussing? An entire conversation, and he remembers only one innocuous quote? I call shenanigans.

Irfan told the newspaper he thought he and the others were profiled because of their appearance. The men had beards and the women wore headscarves, traditional Muslim attire.

Ya think? Of course they were profiled, and rightly so! Is 9-11 really so far removed that no one remembers who hijacked those planes and crashed them into western Pennsylvania, The Pentagon, and the World Trade Center? Oh, and for those of you with short memories, the WTC isn’t there anymore!

One of the passengers removed, Abdur Razack Aziz, said he will consider a lawsuit. (LINK)

And there it is. Muslim passengers make a few comments about airport security, (rightly) get kicked off the plane, and are now crying “Profiling!” I’ll bet you my paycheck that they had this conversation on purpose, with the full expectation that CAIR or the ACLU would swoop in and reward them for their stupidity. The poor little “offended” Muslims want a payday, and they’ll probably get one.

Allah bless America.

  1. Deanna says:

I’m glad to hear that they are still taking comments seriously. I am afraid that we are getting too complacent in general.

  2. Easily Lost says:

The sad part is the payoff. Why do companies fold under any kind of pressure? Instead of standing up and saying enough is a freaking enough. Too many people are making money off every little thing, and it’s killing this country. We, as the consumer, end up paying for those frivolous lawsuits, in higher costs.

  3. Old Soldier says:

I saw this on the news this morning.. when will the law suits start?? Glad it happened. Better safe that sorry.

  4. Bob says:

Kick em off, it’s fine with me.. the plane will smell better.

  5. DD2 says:

What Bob (above) said sounds fine to me..

  6. Mike47 says:

Show me in the Constitution where profiling is proscribed.

There are some thing in this story I do not understand:

    From: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090102/us_nm/us_usa_airline_muslims
“All 104 passengers aboard the flight were taken off and rescreened and their baggage was checked again, AirTran said. Of the nine passengers in the group, six asked to be rebooked to Florida, AirTran said.”

This was a family group of 8 plus a freind = 9. All were due to travel to a “religious retreat” but it appears only 6 wanted to go on to their destination. So, either 2 or 3 members of the family dropped out. Odd …

    Secondly, from:
    http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/024189.php#comments
“One passenger in the party became irate and made inappropriate comments,” the statement said. “The local law enforcement officials came over and escorted the passengers away from the gate podium.”

The reference to this was given as the same Yahoo news article but it seems to have been removed.

What should we make of this? Was this a normal family group travelling to Florida? If so, why did 3 apparently drop out? One of the party was a lawyer. Was he/she there for some specific purpose? Was he/she amongst those who travelled onwards? Did the anger and inappropriate comments incident happen or not? Was the whole thing stirred up deliberately to allow a big money claim to be made and/or to put the kaffir in their place?

    Who knows …

With respect to religious profiling, someone ought to remind them that 3 domestic airline flights ended up crashing into buildings while a 4th only did not do so because of the passengers taking action. The people concerned where of their own religion. Everyone is being inconvenienced because of the events of 9/11. They should not expect to be treated any differently.

Deanna – I agree wholeheartedly. Too many people have forgotten 9-11. We need to remember that there is a large group of people who want us all dead.

I call them “My readers.” :)

E.L. – You are exactly correct. Hopefully, AirTran will not bow to the pressure of CAIR.

Old Soldier – You can say that again. No way you take a chance after something like that. Not in this day and age.

    Bob/DD2 – Aaannnddd . . . too far.

Mike47 – There is a section where is suggests profiling people without powdered wigs.
