Mmmmm . . . Roasted Fathead!

By Wyatt Earp | October 29, 2008

Mmmmm…roast!

I love a nice roast with mashed potatoes and veggies. I especially love roasted media types with huge egos. Egos make the roast nice and fatty…lots of flavor.

In a room full of television industry executives, no one seemed inclined to defend MSNBC on Monday for what some were calling its lopsidedly liberal coverage of the presidential election.

The cable news channel is “completely out of control,” said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.

She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Olbermann was criticized by many who attended Monday’s luncheon sponsored by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event was dubbed “Hollywood, America and Election ‘08.”

You know, it is always pretty funny when any person who is staunchly for one side turns on that side and attacks. Bloodworth-Tomason appears to have had an epiphany of sorts…maybe of decency (or at least proving it is possible):

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC — and other media — has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

“We should stop the demonizing,” she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. “It diminishes us,” she said of her fellow Democrats. She stressed, though, that it’s Palin’s small-town American roots she wishes to defend and not her politics or policies.

Refreshing, no? Personal attacks thrown by the types who are supposed to be responsible professionals just seems even more immature than the attacks coming from anyone else.

An intersting statement was made about “news” in general:

“…the electorate chooses to watch news programs not for information but to confirm already-held beliefs, and that applies to viewers of CNN and Fox News as well.”

(H/T: Hollywood Reporter)

Well…maybe if the “news” still sought to inform, rather than feel like it is their duty to instruct us on what they think we should think…

The article is an interesting read. If you have about three minutes or so, go read it. Worth it.

BZ is correct again. Thompson and her husband are bigtime Hillary! supporters and longtime Clintonistas so they are still pissed that the MSM chose the Chosen One Obama instead of Hillary! .

Would she be saying the same thing if it were her BFF Hillary running against McCain?
