An Open Letter To America

This story is exactly why police officers like Officer Patrick McDonald are seen as targets by the thugs in this country. This is exactly why police officers think the public couldn’t care less about them. It is also why many police officers stop giving a rat’s ass about what happens in their patrol districts in favor of making sure they go home after their shift.
JACKSON, Georgia — The U.S. Supreme Court granted a last-minute reprieve to a Georgia man fewer than two hours before he was to be executed for the 1989 slaying of an off-duty police officer.
Troy Anthony Davis learned that his execution had been stayed when he saw it on television, he told CNN via telephone in his first interview after the stay was announced.
Of course they did. And do you know why? It’s because criminals have more rights than police officers in this country anymore.
The 39-year-old also said that he is “very grateful for everything that everyone is doing” for him and that he would “accept” whatever decision the Supreme Court rendered in the coming days about his case.
At the Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, a crowd of Davis’ supporters, led by the Rev. Al Sharpton, erupted in cheers when the stay was announced. Some shouted “Hallelujah!”
How did I know Al Sharpton would be involved in this? Where is he when blacks are committing genocide against their own people in the inner cities, huh? He’s sitting on his fat ass eating potato chips, that’s where! Sharpton, you are a piece of garbage.
Seven of the nine witnesses who initially testified that Davis was the killer have recanted. There was no physical evidence presented at his trial, and no weapon was found. But Davis’ petitions for a new trial have been denied.
That tells you something, doesn’t it? The SCOTUS gives a stay of execution as a matter of course. If there was evidence that Davis was innocent, a new trial would at least be considered.
The MacPhail family said they were angry about the stay.
“I am angry as can be. I’m disgusted. It should have been over by now,” MacPhail’s mother, Anneliese MacPhail, told CNN. “Nobody thinks about what the victims’ family has gone through again and again. (H/T - CNN)
And there it is. So few people think about the families that have to make their way after their loved one is brutally murdered. No one considers what is going through their minds when they see Al Sharpton and his jackass followers cheering and praising God for sparing the man who killed Anneliese MacPhail’s son. No one considers what is going through their minds when morons like Susan Sarandon, Harry Belafonte, The Indigo Girls, Jimmy Carter, and Libertarian candidate for president Bob Barr support Davis’ request for a new trial. Simply put, far too many people don’t care about the fate of police officers.
So, why should we, as police officers, care about them?
