Do The Obamas Hate America?
By Wyatt Earp | August 8, 2008

A few weeks ago, I would have said no. Now, I’m not so sure. After some of these remarks, it is obvious that they both have some serious issues with America – not just the current administration.
When presidential candidates answer questions from children about why they want the job, most will give an answer that uplifts the child and the candidate. Not Barack Obama. At a campaign stop in Elkhart, Indiana, a seven-year-old girl asked the Democrat why he wants to be President — and he told her that America has gone downhill:
“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”
Barack Obama, the man who wants to be elected President of the United States, actually said this to a 7-year old girl. Unbelievable. And then, there’s Michelle Obama:
“Sometimes it’s easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That’s America.”
America the Ignorant? I always thought the song was entitled “America the Beautiful.” Oh, and who can forget this little gem?
“Let me tell you something. For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback.” (H/T – Hot Air)
If you click the link, you can watch video footage of the Obamas’ quotes, and a terrific follow-up by Rush Limbaugh.
I don’t think it’s any big secret that I am not fond of Barack Obama and his socialist policies. I don’t think it’s any big secret that I despise Michelle Obama. I think she is the second coming of Tereza Heinz-Kerry. But, while I do not agree with them, I always thought they were trying to do what – in their minds – was best for America.
I don’t think that way anymore.

Yep, nothing like a video source from Rush Limbaugh to add credibility.

My preference for Obama aside, the statement is true in the sense that the USA doesn’t offer the opportunities it once did for everyone thanks to the ‘free traders’ and the resulting wholesale gutting of our industrial base
In the words of Billy Joel’s Allentown:
I love my country and I want it to again be that ‘beacon on the hill’, but I don’t think that 4 more years of McSame is the way to do it.

I’m with you. I won’t say that America is perfect, but it’s the country that everyone wants to get into. There is no other country where you can take the oath, become a citizen and be accepted as such immediately. There are people of Turkish descent who have lived in Germany for generations and are not thought of as Germans. Europeans are so fond of lecturing us about racism, but the way most Europeans treat Gypsies is appalling.
I’ve met lots of people from other countries who are now US citizens and one of them told me a story I will never forget. She and her husband were from Bosnia – she was Muslim, he was Orthodox. When the civil war struck they were in danger because of their mixed marriage.
They fled the country and came to America to my small Kentucky town where they settled down, got jobs and are happy. With tears in her eyes, the woman said that here, no one cares about what your religion is, or where you are from. You are only an American.

“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”
…Is he wrong? No, he’s 100% right. Was it a little harsh for a 7 y.o….maybe. But he IS right.

Just looking at these two husband and/uh wife, reminds me of my last trip to the uh nevermind. Power to the people as they say. The bubble is going to burst soon and we will see what flows out.

Wow, check it out, Old Soldier is a fucking racist. Good job, asshole.

Red – I know! If only I added video sources and direct quotes from the Obama themselves. Where was my mind?
Glocksman – You’re kidding, right? Who isn’t getting opportunities in America, and when did this atrocity begin? Right after Clinton left office? Stop it. Find me another country that is a better “beacon” for the rest of the earth, and I’ll gladly move there.
Ky person – The sad part is that many people agree with the Obamas. And that, in itself, is the problem. Of course America is not perfect. Who claimed that it was? But it’s still light years better than any other country on earth, and that’s why Obama – and his supporters – live here.
Randal – The sad part is that you hate Bush so much that you actually believe this nonsense. Abraham Lincoln said, “In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free — honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.”
Truer words were never spoken. And I’m still waiting for the Obamatons to cite me a better country.
Old Soldier – Write this down: Obama will win in a landslide in November. And some people think this country is headed in the wrong direction now . . .
August 8th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Randal – 1. Lose the f-bombs.
2. If I’m not mistaken, you started to throw a few N-bombs in previous comments. Should I direct you to the Williams sisters posts?
August 8th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
First, I do hate GW; I think he is an incompetent moron.
Obama never said another country was better; he only said that this country isn’t as good as it used to be…AND HE’S RIGHT
You’re not really gonna try to pin me with the racist crap are you? Any comment in the William’s sister’s post was an obvious joke and you know it, so there’s no comparison. I’m glad you linked it, because now people can see that a typed stutter is an obvious attempt at humor; it may not have been a funny joke to some, but it was a joke.
Face it, one of the reasons that Old Soldier (and I’m sure others who post here) doesn’t like Obama is because he’s black; he’s entitled to his opinion.
August 8th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Randal – No, I wouldn’t pin you with that racist crap, even though you seem okay with pinning that on to people you don’t even know. Of course in that ivory tower of yours, you seem fit to know what Old Soldier (and many others) are thinking.
I never said you were a racist for it. I think you were making a joke, so I would never claim to know what goes on in your mind. But imagine if someone came to the blog and the only thing they saw written by Randal Graves was that comment. What would they think?
Of course there are people who don’t like Obama because they’re black. If that’s their only reason, then they’re idiots. There are just as many people who don’t like McCain because he’s white. Come to work with me, and I’ll show you dozens of them on the streets of North Philly. They’re idiots as well.
Words are just that: words. Actions make a racist, not some stupid comments.
August 8th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
So Randal, you have me down as a racist and an asshole.. well the asshole part I am, and glad to be known as one. The racist part is open for your own interpretation. I could care less if Nobama is black, white or green, he is just full of crap, and anyone who buys into his crap needs to listen to what he is actually saying. And again, thanks for tagging me an asshole.
August 8th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
I want to say to Randall is this.
My problem with Obama is not because he is black.
But rather because he is a socialist and wrong on everything.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
And would not know the truth if it walked up and slapped the color off his face. And NO — that wasn’t a racist statement.
August 8th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
And therein lies the problem. For a lot of Obama supporters, he is above criticism. If you do criticize him about something of substance, they call you a racist.
That is why Obama will be elected in a landslide. Too many people worry about what others think of them. they worry that if they don’t vote for Obama, they’ll be perceived as racists – even though he has no experience, and no ideas. He’s a socialist wrapped in an eloquent speaker. Nothing more.

Not even close.
Clinton was just as much an avid ‘free trader’ as GWB is.
Honestly, if you look at the simple fact that the US went from being the largest creditor nation in the world to being the largest debtor nation in the world over a 40 odd year span would indicate that it’s a bipartisan problem.
Though I’ll say that Bush’s ‘borrow and spend’ policies have a lot to do with it.
Given a choice between ‘tax and spend’ vs. ‘borrow and spend’, I’ll take taxes every time simply because I’m not burdening my grandchildren with my selfishness.
August 9th, 2008 at 6:10 am
Heck, I’d vote for a black man for president in a heartbeat, but Michael Steele isn’t running.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Yes I am a racist too even though the first time I ever gave a political donation, it was to Michael Steele’s campaign.
Randal – most Americans are willing to vote for a qualified candidate no matter what color he is. I once voted for Frank Rizzo and I once voted for Wilson Goode when he ran against Rizzo. So I have been open-minded (and wrong as it turned out re my Wilson Goode vote). I voted against John Street and moved from the city when he was mayor.
Does that make me racist? I fear Obama will be a total incompetent like Goode and Street. If he is, it will set race relations back about 50 years. Give me a candidate like Colin Powell or JC Watts anyday.
