Happy Independence Day!
By Wyatt Earp | July 4, 2008

Independence Hall, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, circa 1776.
Every July 4th, I think about how great it is to be living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of America. Actually, it’s probably the only day out of the year where I feel lucky to have been born and raised here. This city bleeds history from every brick, pebble, and stone. When you think about all of the great men and women who have lived here in the last 230+ years, it is truly awe-inspiring.
So, with that in mind, I figured I could post another top ten list . . .
Top Ten Good Things About America
10. Only our drunken rednecks are visited by aliens.
9. We’re now Madonna-free!
8. Two words: professional wrestling.
7. Cocaine as far as the eye can see. (Sorry, that’s a good thing about South America.)
6. You don’t see Batman protecting Moscow, do ya?
5. Our Chinese food blows China’s out of the water.
4. An idiot blogger can be interviewed on talk radio. Twice!
3. We have Size 3 Killing Machines!
2. A chubby shrew, an inexperienced black man, and a geezer from Arizona all have a shot at becoming President!
And the number one good thing about America is . . .
1. Jessica Simpson!

Dorkelina – And to yours! And you’re welcome.
RT – You, too. If I weren’t still dieting, I’d be all over some Chinese food right now.
Jessica… A bold beautiful PETA pestering meat eater.
Insol – Oh, how I love her. Heh, heh, you wrote “meat.”
Only drunk rednecks are abducted by aliens? Why can’t Moxargon leave us the frak alone.
Happy 4th!
that pic of Jessica never gets old.
Marvin – That’s a good question. Maybe they don’t like to come up north during the winter?
Admiral – You too, sir!
Smite – No, it doesn’t. It is my favorite pic of her.
One of the things I loved about growing up across the river from the city that “bleeds history from every brick, pebble, and stone” was being able to see that history in person. Constitution Hall, The Betsy Ross House, The Liberty Bell, even the cobblestone streets. I miss that.
Happy Independence Day everyone!
Happy Independence Day!
Happy 4th Wyatt!
Jim – It’s nice to drive by when I’m coming to or from court and seeing the history. Great for history buffs like myself.
Deanna – Thanks, Deanna! You, too!
