The Final Four Is Upon Us

By Wyatt Earp | May 29, 2010

And unlike the NCAA Basketball Final Four, this one is actually interesting. The 2010 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Final Four is being held in Baltimore, Maryland. The semifinal games began today at 4pm (EDT) with Cornell facing Notre Dame. The second semifinal is scheduled for 7pm (EDT) with Duke facing off against Virginia. Personally, I am hoping the Big Red of Cornell wins the whole thing.

For those of you who don’t follow or have never seen the sport, this is your golden opportunity. NCAA Division 1 lacrosse is the purest, most beautiful form of the sport around. Prefect passing, bullet shots, and brutal checks make it the most exciting version as well. To give you an idea of how this rates for me, I will be watching the Duke-Virginia game instead of watching my Flyers play Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals!

All games are being televised on ESPN2, and Monday’s Championship Game is being shown on ESPN at 3:30pm (EDT). Check it out.

UPDATE: Notre Dame beat Cornell by a score of 12-7. Considering how much I despised Notre Dame before today’s win, I’ll be rooting for the winner of the Duke-Virginia game tonight.

SECOND UPDATE: It’s Notre Dame versus Duke on Monday afternoon. Virginia was attacking with 8 seconds left when they went offsides. Inexcusable.

B.A. – No word yet, but it is always a consideration since the Linc was built. I’m rooting for Duke, too, since I despise Notre Dame.

Who did Obama pick in his bracket?

Ingineer66 – Probably Syracuse again. They were ousted early.
