He’s got to be kidding. Upholding our values will shield us from terrorism? Is the president snorting cocaine again?
Personally, I would rather the American military industrial complex and the brave men and women of our armed forces protect me and my family from terror. And make no mistake: Obama wants that, too.
Or do you think his oversized limousine is made of “values” instead of armor?
President Barack Obama Friday warned America risked its security when it compromised its values, seeking support for his bid to sketch a new legal framework for anti-terror policies.
This argument, more than any other, really grinds my gears. Terrorists did not attack America and its allies because of a Abu Ghraib and waterboarding, you dope! Terrorists attacked America specifically because they despise our freedom, Mr. President. Get that through your thick, armor-plated skull.
Obama used the backdrop of the US Naval Academy graduation ceremony to argue that founding US ideals must guide the future battle against terrorism, a day after trying to quell raging debate over Guantanamo Bay in a major speech.
Oh by all means, let’s play by the rules while terrorists behead our citizens, and attack our cities. We cannot seem like the “bad guy” to the rest of the world. Frak the rest of the world. The POTUS should be looking out for number one.
“We uphold our fundamental principles and values not just because we choose to, but because we swear to — not because they feel good, but because they help keep us safe,” Obama told 30,000 graduating navy cadets and family members.
“When America strays from our values, it not only undermines the rule of law, it alienates us from our allies, it energizes our adversaries and it endangers our national security and the lives of our troops.” (H/T – Breitbart)
There’s nothing like slamming your own country during a commencement speech at the United States Naval Academy!
Obama’s speechwriters really need to start fact checking before sending our the Teleprompter-in-Chief. Yes, America was founded on rock-solid – and Judeo-Christian – ideals. Don’t think for one minute that the Founding Fathers didn’t get their hands dirty when need be, though. George Washington executed some of his own troops at Valley Forge. Thomas Jefferson sent the United States to war against the Barbary Pirates because they threatened American interests at sea. And do I even need to bring up the Founders’ positions on the American Indians?
I swear to God, this guy acts like he would rather be president of any country other than America.
