Sestak Implicates Obama Administration
By Wyatt Earp | May 24, 2010
Congressman Joe Sestak appeared on Meet the Press yesterday and confirmed what many of us already knew: that someone in the Obama administration offered him a position within the administration if he would drop out of the senate race against Arlen Specter. Now I’m no detective, but this sounds a lot like bribery to me.
The Obama administration owes the American people some answers, post haste.
Rep. Joe Sestak, winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, is refusing to provide more information on what job he was offered by a White House official to drop of that race, although he confirmed again that the incident occurred.
The White House was backing incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in the primary. Sestak acknowledged in an interview in February that he was offered a position by an unnamed White House official – a potential violation of federal law – but has not offered any specifics on conversation. Republicans are trying to use the issue against Sestak in the November Senate race.
“I was offered a job, and I answered that,” Sestak said. “Anything that goes beyond that is for others to talk about.”
Yeah, especially is those “others” are the members of Congress. If Sestak is telling the truth, a crime was definitely committed by someone in the Obama administration, and possibly by the president himself.
What crime you ask? Read on . . .
Gabriel Malor over at Ace of Spades gives us a legal refresher:
18 U.S.C. § 600. Promise of employment or other benefit for political activity
Whoever, directly or indirectly, promises any employment, position, compensation, contract, appointment, or other benefit, provided for or made possible in whole or in part by any Act of Congress, or any special consideration in obtaining any such benefit, to any person as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity or for the support of or opposition to any candidate or any political party in connection with any general or special election to any political office, or in connection with any primary election or political convention or caucus held to select candidates for any political office, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
I think a congressional investigation is in order.

“I think a congressional investigation is in order.”
Not bloody likely until after the Congress changes hands next year.

John D — when that happens, they should hire our host as the chief investigator.
End result: It’s “Slammer Time”!!!!!

Can’t impeach Obama because that would put nitwit Joe Biden in the White House.

AJ — that’s OK. Odds are Slow Joe couldn’t find a crayon to sign any legislation between now and 2012.

I can see clearly now the saying goes that if those in Washington want to see how is responsible for the chaos and incompetence that is currently our government, the need simply to look in the mirror. Well, it is perfectly understandable that they cannot see their own reflection; all the mirrors in that den of corruption are too clouded with smoke.

AJ Lynch: I will take “Nitwit Biden” over President Barry any day. At least for the last two years he would be slapped around enough by the right for his inepitutude that a Conservative in 2012 in the WH would be a cake walk.
Just no President Pelosi. Please. That would bring us straight to the “Spock with a Beard Universe.”

Before the 2008 election, I heard a story from someone who knows Biden that Biden admitted that Obama was an out and out socialist.

John D – I was hoping enough people would make a stink, but I’m probably in denial.
Bob – I don’t think it’s a difficult investigation. Subpoena Sestak and make him testify under oath. Get the arrest warrants accordingly.
AJ – And this is an impeachable offense, not to mention a felony.
Richard – Imagine the blog fodder with him as POTUS, though.
Ferrell – Make Pelosi POTUS. Then when she’s unseated, she’ll have lost her senate seat and we can be done with her.
AJ – I wouldn’t go that far, especially considering the source.
Roger – Never happen, but it’s nice to dream.
Jon – I was surprised Gregory asked Sestak the question.
Old NFO – Typical Dem excuse. Sure, it’s illegal, but everyone does it!

Sounds like the Ret. Vice Admiral has forgotten his code of ethics. He needs to come clean about what was offered and stop dangling the old carrot in front of the voting public. He hasn’t won that Senate seat and may not if the voters deem him deceitful. Now the rest of the nation is understanding why we here in the midwest hate Chicago politics. It goes hand in hand with organized crime. Down and Dirty!!!!!

Job offer: “Keeping an eye on Babbling Joe Biden so he doesn’t say anything that will implicate the B.O. administration in shady deals. Another great decision by the assholes. Joe Sestak shot himself in the foot. He made the statement so he would be eeeeeee……lected. I can see the campaign ads now

Jon – And the Beltway is infested with them.
Rick – Probably a good idea.
MeToo – He’s not an admiral anymore, he’s a politician.
Crusty – If nothing else, this is great news for Pat Twoomey.
