Sebelius: Not Saving America’s Bacon
By Wyatt Earp | October 22, 2009
Hey, are you interested in getting that awesome new Swine Flu vaccine? Well, you may have to wait a while. Why? Because other more needy countries are going to get yours first.
For just pennies a day, you too can sponsor a sickly loser country . . .
It’s bad enough that there is already a massive backup on the Swine Flu vaccine, but…..
Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told CNSNews.com Wednesday that one in 10 doses of the swine-flu vaccine purchased by the U.S. will be donated to other nations before U.S. demand is filled.
Sebelius also told a Senate committee that vaccine production is well behind demand.
But by all means, let’s let the government run our health care!
“What we said is once we have 40 million doses (of the vaccine), the donation can start,” Sebelius told CNSNews.com. “There’s an agreement (of) 10 percent donation that 11 nations have made,” she said.
Sen. John Tester (D-Mont.) expressed concern about the administration’s plan to give away vaccine stocks to other countries, asking Sebelius: “So, why should we be entitled, the U.S. be more entitled, to that vaccine than some other country in the world?”
Sebelius responded: “The president has clearly made it clear that his priority is the safety and security of the American people, but he has also asked that we are a global partner. We have joined now 11 nations” to donate the vaccine to other countries.
Ah yes, the global partnership. That’s the one where we’re the unequal partner, because the president is more concerned with other countries before his own.
I doubt whether many of us, or any of us, have an issue with helping out other countries (depending on which ones,) but, perhaps we should make sure that every American who wants one should get one first, then ship them out. (H/T – Pirate’s Cove)
Agreed, but that would be making the assumption that common sense is still alive in Washington, D.C. Sadly, it’s deceased. And strangely enough, the cause of death was the Swine Flu.

But giving $1 Trillion dollars of “our” money to Iraq was okay, right?

Randal – I don’t know, but if that was an issue that bothered the president, shouldn’t he have cut off funding by now?
If you want, though, I’ll take your Swine Flu shot.

Can there be a worse combination than “evil” and “incompetent?”
Well, at least there’s Spassfabrik.

Okay evil and competent is probably more dangerous, I’m just sayin’.

Yeah, he’s just gonna cut off funding cold turkey….exactly what yuse want him to do.

cbullitt – Yeah, glad you fixed that one. Heh.
Randal – Yeah. you got me, I want the funds cut off and the troops pulled out right away. Do you even read this blog? I said that “if” the war expenses were an issue for Obama, he should defund it. By not defunding it, he is approving the expense. So, the Iraq/Afghanistan war dollars are obviously okay with him.
You may have typed in the wrong address, though. This isn’t First In, so those blanket statements don’t wash here.

I guess we aren’t quite good enough for kathleen and the maggot in the white house, are we.
And I read something recently about kathleen having a sking cancer thing removed. The reporter was having an apoplectic fit as if the world was coming to an end. I don’t think it was that fat dirtbag at MSCommie, ed schultz.
Hey, I just got through a bout with kidney cancer.I lost a kidney over it but I have a spare. And I have done far more for this country in a single day than kathleen sibelius has in her entire life. And there are those of us in Kansas who do apologize for the pain she is now inflicting on the rest of the country. Think a skinny hillary rodham but with less profanity.

“By not defunding it, he is approving the expense.”
I disagree.

“The president has clearly made it clear that his priority is the safety and security of the American people…..”
Forgive me if I don’t believe you, but I am getting so cynical it’s not even funny.
