Arlen Specter’s Last Political Gasp

It’s pretty damned entertaining, isn’t it? The first guy must be one of those “Nazi plants from the insurance companies.” Because, you know, he couldn’t possibly be an angry senior citizen worried about his health coverage, right?
Things got a little heated at the townhall forum held by Senator Arlen Specter (R er, D-PA) this morning after a curious decision not to allow people to ask questions live from the floor . . . He then angered the crowd all over again by reminding them how lucky they are to be in his presence at all, as this video clip by The College Politico shows at the end:

Specter doesn’t get any “extra pay”? He makes $174,000 a year for a job that requires him to be at the office four days a week when Congress is in session, which is only about 2/3rds of the year. He has a gold-plated medical and dental package that Specter certainly won’t surrender for the ObamaCare system he’s pushing. Thanks to his 30 years in the Senate, he’s eligible for a pension that will pay 80% of that salary and keep his benefits package in place until he dies.

Wow, I wish that man would have stayed and just kept yelling at Specter, he was good.
I love when Specter said that he doesn’t get paid any extra to be there. Jeez, he pulls down $174,000 a year for a part time job with fantastic benefits, and he still feels the need to break his scapula patting himself on the back?

Jesus, it’s impossible to make you damn plebs happy. Next thing you know, you’ll be expecting Snarlen’ Arlen to be held accountable by a general election of citizens.
I look forward to this being used as a campaign commercial throughout 2010. I don’t care how often Sestak or Toomey play it, I’ll never tire of hearing it.
