More Democrat Shenanigans

By Wyatt Earp | June 16, 2009

Does this look like a dishonest man?

Does this look like a dishonest man?

Remember when Illinois Democrat Senator Dick Durbin compared members of our armed forces to Nazis, Soviets, and fascist dictators like Pol Pot?

Well, it seems the senator has a lot more in common with those criminals than any American soldier. You see, like the Nazis and Soviets, Durbin is probably a thief and a liar.

As U.S. stock markets plummeted last September, the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat, Dick Durbin, sold more than $115,000 worth of stocks and mutual-fund shares and used much of the money to invest in Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

The Illinois senator’s 2008 financial disclosure statement shows he sold mutual-fund shares worth $42,696 on Sept. 19, the day after then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke urged congressional leaders in a closed meeting to craft legislation to help financially troubled banks. The same day, he bought $43,562 worth of Berkshire Hathaway’s Class B stock, the disclosure shows.

Interesting. Of course, Durbin’s mouthpiece explained the misunderstanding in a very convincing manner:

“Durbin was doing what a lot of other people were doing, taking a look at their savings” and seeing it “start to tank and trying to preserve some level of wealth by getting out of the market,” said his spokesman, Joe Shoemaker. (H/TThe Chicago Sun-Times)

Durbin does realize that Martha Stewart was sent to prison for far less than this, right? I wonder how long it will take the Democrats to condemn and replace Durbin and that lying piece of garbage Nancy Pelosi?

Should I hold my breath?

“Durbin is probably a thief and a liar.”
    Probably?
He’s a politician. It’s in his job description.

    Stay safe

    The Marshall asked:

    “Should I hold my breath?”

Only if you want to turn a most unusual range of colours!

Dick is from the land of Daley and Obama enough said.

What a scumbag! It’s a shame that he probably won’t be charged with anything. I don’t think his meeting will count as “insider trading”.

Lergnom – With Durbin being the #2 Democrat, I wasn’t going to risk getting sued for “falsely accusing him.” Heh.

Alan B – I usually look good in blue, but not this time.

Rick – Chicago and philly politics are almost equally corrupt now.

Randal – It’s like a lot of cases we get in the division. We know the guy is guilty, but we can’t prove it with the evidence given. Frustrating.

Pfft! That ol’ lizzard won’t ever see the other side of bars. Martha went to prison for perjury. Whatcha think anyone will even bother asking the big questions of Dumbin, under oath?

We go thru about 1 ton of oxygen per year, so if we could pump about 4 tons of O2 into your lungs and manage to get the CO2 out of you you’d be good to go on holding your breath till 2012 Wyatt. You would have to cut down on drinking though and we would have to deprive you of sleep otherwise you would begin to unconciously breathe. 24/7 coffee IV’s would be mandatory, no decaf. It would be a logistical nightmare
but I think we could pull it off. Report to Sectors R or M around midnight.

Excuse me, I gotta go take a Durbin.

Kate – Forget the oath. The media isn’t asking him the tough questions now! The Sun-Times article had a canned quote from his spokesman!

Jon – I assume I’ll need my credentials to get into Sector M?

    Sully – Well played!

Do you think he’d teach crafts like Martha if he got sent to Camp Cupcake?

I saw further quotes from his ‘mouthpiece’ – terms like “secret” and “classified” were thrown around, not the more germain “insider” and “privileged”… Scum and bag.

If this is not insider trading, I don’t know what is. I’d like to think he’s due for a trip to an ethics board, but I am not holding my breath, either.

Mrs. Crankipants – Maybe he can teach “prison cigarette economics?”

Brent – Never happen. And that’s a damned crime in itself.

    Crankipants – But if it were you or I . . .
