Caroline Kennedy: She’s, You Know, Qualified
By Wyatt Earp | December 29, 2008
If this interview is any indication, Caroline Kennedy is a complete and utter moron. Of course, that makes her uniquely qualified to be a United States Senator - especially a senator from New York.
A defiant Caroline Kennedy says she “wouldn’t be beholden to anybody” - including Mayor Bloomberg - if she’s picked to become New York’s next U.S. senator.
“I’m really coming into this as somebody who isn’t, you know, part of the system, who obviously, you know, stands for the values of, you know, the Democratic Party,” Kennedy told the Daily News Saturday during a wide-ranging interview.
“I know how important it is to, you know, to be my own person. And, you know, and that would be obviously true with my relationship with the mayor.”
Don’t worry, because, you know, it gets better:
Kennedy revealed she has had several recent discussions with her former cousin-in-law, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who is also considered a serious candidate for the Senate seat.
“Andrew is, you know, highly qualified for this job,” she said. “He’s doing a, you know, a great job as attorney general, and we’ve spoken throughout this process.”
Despite his bitter divorce from Kerry Kennedy, in which her family accused Cuomo of spilling about his wife’s extramarital affair, Caroline Kennedy said the recent conversations have been amicable.
“You know, I think, you know, we’re sort of, uh, sharing some of this experience. And um, as I’ve said, he was a friend, a family member, and um so, and uh obviously, he’s, you know, he’s also had an impressive career in public office.”
I know, I know. But Caroline, isn’t this really all about you and your desire to keep the Kennedy family name in the spotlight? I mean that’s why you dropped the Schlossberg from your surname, right?
“It’s really, you know, it’s not about just the Kennedy name,” she said. “It’s about my own work and what I’ve done with those values.” (H/T - The New York Daily News)
And what exactly has she done to deserve a senate seat? Her only qualification is that she is the demon seed of a dead president. Hell, if that is a qualification, why not give it to Susan Ford or Julie Nixon Eisenhower?
Personally, I think awarding the seat to a woman who doesn’t even, you know, vote is a slap in the face to the people of New York, and America as a whole.
Sorry Caroline, but, you know, you’re an idiot, and, you know, you need to go back to your day job - whatever that is.

I was watching Fox this morning and someone said that Kennedy said, “You know” over 100 times in that interview.
Duh.

Sounds like she, ya’ know, was raised in Carmel Valley instead of, ya’ know, the Kennedy Compound, ya’ know…
Either of our cats has more qualifications than this vapid waste of endoplasmic reticulum.

Her mom wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer either….

To be fair to her, according to Wiki she never took her husband’s name and stayed Caroline Bouvier Kennedy.
A personal view from the UK side of the pond (where she is unknown):
Her political views appear to be in favour of legislation for same sex “marriage”, pro choice, strong supporter of gun control plus “another ****** Kennedy”. I can’t imagine Republicans having any fellow-feeling for her (but I’m English so I could be totally wrong).
Qualifications? Apparently, she’s an attorney, writer, editor and serves on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations. Is that a commendation? Doesn’t seem a glowing CV to me. Does she understand business? Like running one? Producing anything in one? Working with “the man on the Clapham omnibus” Apparently no to all.
Ability to speak coherently even when not under pressure? Seems to have failed that!
The Nepotism factor? Seat held by a previous Kennedy so ticks that box. Also seems to have the support of the top local Democrats.
Active involvment in politics? Seems she didn’t (bother to) vote in a number of Democratic primaries and general elections since 1988.
Openness? Reluctant to provide details about her political views and declined to make disclosures of her financial dealings or other personal matters. She would, however, release information publicly but only if or when she had to (big deal!). Pick me first and only then will I let you know only as much about me as I really have to.
Quoted as saying: “[I'll have to] work twice as hard as anybody else…I am an unconventional choice…We’re starting to see there are many ways into public life and public service.”
The most important of these ways seems to me to show a track record with outstanding ability with a wide experience of the way Americans live and work. Oh, sorry, she’s a Kennedy - she gets a pass on that, I believe.
Best of luck, guys!

It’s like, you know, her like destiny to be a you know, senator or something. She isn’t, you know, a peasant, she is you know socialist royalty. Just like, you know, the Castros, the other Kennedy’s, the Clinton’s that nut family in N. Korea, its like you know, that socialist all secretly, you know, believe in feudalism.

RT - Suffice to say, she is not the public speaker her father was.
B.C. - Every time she speaks, someone should blast “” over a loudspeaker.
Mrs. Crankipants - At least she dressed well. Caroline can’t even say that.
Alan - I know many in the American media referred to her as Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. Now, they dropped the Schlossberg - probably for her Senate beg-a-thon.
Rodney - But with better legs . . . maybe.
Doghouse - Yep, she’s lived in new York, what, three weeks longer than Hillary?
Marvin - Totally!

Ask yourself 2 questions:
1. What if JFK Jr was still alive–would his aspirations to the Senate seat have been taken more seriously.
2. For a party (the Dems) that puts up candidates like Cynthia McKinney and Al Franken, why on earth are they against Caroline Kennedy for this Senate seat?! She hasn’t been a part of their machine, moneywise, voting wise–she is an invisible as Comrade Zero in terms of what she would or would not do. So, what gives? I understand the objection of the Repubs, but why are the Dems against her? Is it because they don’t have control of her? And who would be “they?”
OK, that’s 5 questions for #2. But, think about it. Their self-professed “Palinization” of her doesn’t really make sense.

Old NFO - She’d run away with it in MA. New York? I don’t know.
Kay L - 1. Not by me, because I didn’t think John-John had much experience/expertise, either, but I see your point.
2. That’s a good question(s). I don’t know why the Dems dislike her so much. It’s not like she would have to win an election, she just needs to be appointed. (Unless they think she’ll get creamed in 2010?)

Wyatt,
I wonder if it has something to do with leadership of the Dem party itself. She represents a threat. She has the name and plenty of money personally to take it in another direction.
As I remember, Kerry was Teddy’s put up candidate in an effort to bring some prominence back to the Kennedy’s in the party. Unfortunately for them, it seems that they are just a revered brand name but that no interference is desired.
No matter how Caroline comes across, I think it is obvious that that the way the press presents that person determines their success.
Palin was branded as an idiot and they have done the same with Caroline. If they had wanted her to succeed, I think she could have come out and said “uh, duh” every 15-20 seconds and Matthews’ other leg would have been tingling.
(That man should really get a check-up!)

If her last name were not “Kennedy”, she would yet be getting the Palin’s “dumbest person on earth” treatment from MSM (not to mention Jon Stewart and others). Luckily for her, the Kennedy-progressive-political correct brand still protects her, but, honestly, the NYT interview: what a disappointment, what a moron!

Qualified-by-genetics? Didn’t we run AWAY from that over 200 years ago?
Just, like, wondering?
