Obama Picks Joe Biden As VP

By Wyatt Earp | August 23, 2008

Because nothing says “change,” like an arrogant ass who’s been in the Senate for 36 years.

Sen. Barack Obama has picked Delaware Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, multiple Democratic sources tell CNN.

I’ll bet Senator Biden was honored to be chosen as second fiddle to a mainstream black guy. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” - Joe Biden, January, 2007.

The longtime Democratic senator was long considered a likely choice for vice president, but the buzz surrounding him intensified after he returned earlier this week from a two-day trip to the Republic of Georgia after Russian troops invaded.

Well, at least the Georgians are not as offensive as those pesky Indian-Americans, right Joe? “In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian-Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”

Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, brings years of experience that could help counter GOP arguments that an Obama administration would be inexperienced on foreign policy. (H/T - CNN)

And if there is any positive to Biden, it is his foreign policy experience. Unfortunately, he does not hold Obama’s foreign policy experience in the same high regard:

“We find it a little disingenuous that Sen. Obama is hailing this as a new bold initiative when he has neglected to join his colleagues in the Senate when the opportunities have been there to redirect our forces into Afghanistan” said Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro. “It’s good to see Sen. Obama has finally arrived at the right position, but this can hardly be considered bold leadership.”

I agree. Bold leadership and Barack Hussein Obama really should never be placed into the same sentence. Biden is expected to comment on the decision, just as soon as he can plagiarize some material. Heh.

UPDATE #1: That “magic text message” the Obama campaign was going to send out to its supporters? Yeah, it arrived at 4:50am EDT - hours after most of the world knew Biden was the choice. Way to bone your supporters, there, BHO.

UPDATE #2: The McCain camp unveiled . Reply for Biden: OUCH!

I cannot….never mind. I’m too busy laughing my butt off! This is so freakin’ funny.

Picking Joe Biden is like picking the love child of Barney Fife and Chrissy Snow.

Heh. Biden alone has an ego big enough for both of them to trip over… and over and over again.

Biden is the poster boy for why most of us despise politicians.

And that is a great point Wyatt - Obama’s change means pick a guy who has been in the Senate since he was 30 years old!

Considering the fact that there has been no harsher critic of Obama than Biden it kind of feels like a “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” scenario.

While I’m not really a fan of Biden, this doesn’t hurt Obama one bit. Plus, it’s the VP, who really gives a shit. If anyithing it helps him since so many republicans have said that he has NO experience….well, he does now.

Let’s see: our current VP is a arrogant, lying crook who shot his ‘friend’ square in the face.

Al Gore was a VP for Christs sake; he’s an idiot.

McCain has only had about 7 months to pick a VP. He was obviously waiting of Obama to pick his first. Way to be reactive instead of proactive John; probably the same way he’d run his White House.

By the way, does anyone want to bet on the election?

“Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, brings years of experience” of the sort that led him to propose giving millions to Iran so as to make Arabs realize we do not hate them: alas, Iranians are not considered to be Arabs either by their own or by, well, Arabs.

And Biden is anti-gun-ownership, as well. Whoopee.
