Charles Schulz Would Be Proud
By Wyatt Earp | November 27, 2011
After coming home from Thanksgiving dinner at the in-laws, the kids plopped in front of the TV to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. It’s a classic American tradition. While we were watching Snoopy throw plates of “dinner” toward Charlie and the gang the missus had an idea. She asked the kids and they were all for it.
Last night, the kids had their very own Charlie Brown Thanksgiving dinner. The missus brought out paper plates and gave each of the kids toast, pretzel sticks, and popcorn. (We didn’t add the jelly beans, because Erik is the only one who likes them.)
The results are below the fold.
Okay, the mostly-eaten results were below the fold:
The kids loved it – Erik demanded the missus literally throw the plates of food at them (she refused) – and they asked for seconds and even thirds. It was a great idea that we’ll definitely do next year as well.

Next year, Wyatt, try serving the food on a ping pong table, just like Snoopy did!

I normally scoff at heart warming stories. Ya know, me being a prick and all. But this one got to me Wyatt. Great stuff man!

Awww…what a great idea! And I bet they loved it! I remember making green eggs and ham for my oldest daughter, many moons ago.

Sounds and looks like a splendid idea!

There’s no “t” in Schulz and I heard he used to get pretty p-o-ed when people misspelt it. (Like refusing to answer fan letters even from kids who did it.)
And… mmm, pretzels. And it sounds like you’ve started a wonderful family tradition… like beating Lady Gaga.

LDIV – I know it.
Sully – Thanks.
Morgan – Quality suggestion!
Dr. Evil – Thanks. The only thing missing was a dog fighting a folding chair.
DL474 – Nice!
Glenn – Yeah, I think it’ll be an annual thing. They seemed to like it.
Andy – That was great. Gave me hope for society.

We had the dog fighting the folding chair. So, across southeast Pa., the full tradition was fulfilled.
