Aaaaand… We’re Back!

Well, that was a sucky three days. After work on Tuesday, I suffered a dizzy spell. I didn’t pay it much mind, but the spells came more often and were much more serious. The missus had me go to the doctor’s to make sure everything was okay. It wasn’t.

The first doc said I was dehydrated. I thought that an odd diagnosis since I had been working inside an air conditioned building all week, but whatever; I rarely question the doc. He told me to drink plenty of fluids and I should be okay in a day.

Well, Wednesday was a nightmare, filled with dizzy spells, nausea, and violent headaches. Last night was worse, and I only saw about two hours sleep, total. I went to the hospital to get a full workup. They took blood, gave me an EKG, and a CT scan of my melon. All tests came back negative – especially for brain activity, apparently.

After examining the results, the doc came into my room and said I am suffering from benign positional vertigo, caused by fluid in the ears. So my days off have been spent holding myself upright like a drunken Irishman. Erin go bragh!

Thanks much to Dr. Evil for covering for me. Regular posting should resume soon.

Geez, Wyatt! I never even HEARD of “benign positional vertigo” – was your BP OK? All I can say is that I hope there is SOMETHING you can do to get better; that does sound sucky and you sure deserve better than that.

I don’t want to ask you much that you haven’t said, like did the doctor say anything about your getting better from that or something you can DO to feel better? I sure hope so.

And btw, you can (and lots of people do) get dehydrated from Air Conditioning – A/C chills the air in significant part by drying the air out – taking the humidity out of the air. And since you don’t feel hot or sweaty, you don’t drink enough WATER.

But all I can say is I sure hope you get better my friend – and whatever the hell the doctor says to do, DO!
Prayers going up for your health Wyatt.

Glad that you are bouncing back. So one doc says not enough fluids and the other one says too much fluids in your ears. They call it “practicing medicine” for a reason.

Glad to hear you’re bouncing back, hopefully not while bouncing off the walls.

Glad to see you’re feeling better. We all sensed there was a disturbance in the force. But then a gain it may just have been Dr. Evil breakin’ wind! Get well soon!

Cool! I had that a while back, made riding the dirt bike a little awkward…either that or the trees got faster.
Glad that you are ok, took me about 3 months to get over whatever it was.
