Philadelphia police said they shot and killed a man who engaged officers in a violent struggle late Sunday after he was asked to stop while riding a bike in West Philadelphia. Police did not identify the man, who was 35.
Two officers attempted to stop a bicyclist near 61st and Arch Streets about 11:45 in relation to an incident that occurred earlier in the night.
The man tried to pedal away but fell off the bike. The officers saw the man brandishing a handgun when he stood, and a violent struggle ensued. The officers tried to wrest the gun from the man, and one officer fired three times. A loaded .45-caliber handgun was found at the scene.
The thug is dead, the officers were uninjured, and the gun was recovered. Sounds like a fine job all around.

I may rant about a coercive gov’t, bonehead thug cops, and complain about the direction of our country – but, that said: I love our LEOs. I’ve been to combat twice, and honestly, I’m not sure I could do what most cops do day in and day out. At least we go over there and come home for a year – you guys just keep plugging away. Kudos sir.
