Watch The Ram Car, Please

By Wyatt Earp | December 20, 2011

My good friend, fellow blogger, and Twitter aficionado Smite invited me, Kyle and Erik to his house for a Football Sunday. Smite has the NFL Sunday Ticket, and figured we could hang out and watch some pigskin – and after a Rosie O’Donnell movie, we could watch football. Kyle jumped at the chance, because Smite said he could watch his favorite team, the St. Louis Rams. Smite’s a Steelers fan, and they weren’t playing Sunday so it worked out well.

We arrived at Casa de Smite in scenic Bristol, PA, and I was amazed that there were no weapons caches in the living room. For a gun guy, he certainly was not prepared for a zombie apocalypse. He was, however, was prepared to dazzle my kids with his giant TV. “Dad, that’s much better than your TV,” Kyle said. I should have made him walk home.

Smite was a gracious host, as food and drink were readily available. He was also good enough not to murder my kids when the got a little antsy. Kyle can watch an entire NFL game, but Erik loses interest after halftime. The game itself was pretty good until the fourth quarter, when the Cincinnati Bengals took the lead for good. Kyle was miffed, but he was still really happy to see his team – a team we rarely see on TV in Philly.

Overall, the kids had a great time, and it was nice to catch up with Smite outside the internet world. We thanked him a few times on Sunday, but I wanted to thank him again for the invite and letting Kyle enjoy the Rams.

On an important side note, Smite had a ton of Rush Limbaugh’s Two If By Tea in his fridge, and was nice enough to give me six bottles to take home. I have to say the tea is really good. I’d certainly recommend it.

    Wyatt,
It’s Christmas time. Every boy and his Dad deserve a REALLY big TV. They make one at 103 inches now.
(Even though I’M retired I can still agitate.)

LDIV – Yeah, thanks. My problem is that Kevin and Julia will go after it like chocolate chip cookies, and it’ll be scratched before it’s out of the box.

The Steelers will be hosting the Rams on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. Hopefully the Steelers will do better than they did last night.

ha! well there was a cased M9 behind glass there in the living room. There were others around accessable too, just not immediately visible, but most were downstairs either on the cleaning table or in the safe.

I meant to show you some rifle and pistol gun-pr0n goodness and also take a a quick tour of the Goodship H***** (who am I kidding, the name is searchable/matched up with my twitter username) parked out back too, but was more caught up on football, sorry. The new diesel really purs like a kitten in idle, yet roars when the dual-turbos spin. Another time though, definitely.

Oddly enough that Rams game was locally played that day, so it wouldn’t have made a difference having the Sunday Ticket or not, but I’m glad you guys came I had a great time as well.

Oh I found a brown brick-looking type of piece of plastic a little while ago under the coffee table. At first I was like “WTH is that?” then saw the Angry Birds writing on it and was like “oh, a piece from Kyle’s toy” hehe.

Glad you enjoyed the tea – yep, it’s some damned good stuff!! :-)
It’s EIC – Excellence In Consumption hehe. As with any product/service from Rush, it’s definitely quality first.
When you get a time where you won’t get ragged on for having an adult beverage hehe, give that Innis & Gunn a try. It’s become my new all-time favorite beer. I think I gave you the original flavor (or the Highland Cask?), but they have a bunch of other varieties too.
