The State Of Politics In Philly

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter (aka Mayor Squidward) is up for re-election this November, and like every incumbent Democrat mayor, he will win in a landslide. This after sitting by while the schools turn into war zones, city services turn to crap, and fire stations close one after another. Not that it matters. This town has not had a Republican mayor in over 60 years, and look at where we are. Taxes are through the roof, crime is up – especially homicides – and corruption reigns supreme.
The unions, however, keep their idiotic, brain-dead members on a short leash. They have them toe the Democrat line and force them to vote for these assclowns. Sure the members take a big hit, but the bosses continue to rake in the dough in the form of patronage. In short, Philadelphia is a failed city.
Thankfully, there are a few people out there who realize this. John Featherman is one of them, and his campaign ad is a riot. It’s funny because it’s true.
Take a gander:
In all seriousness, this guy has no shot at winning this race. He’s a Libertarian that’s running as a Republican because he was tired of fighting the third-party stigma. What does that tell you? His policy issues are all over the place, and he’s a big proponent of legalizing marijuana. Dude, please. Stick to making political ads.
Nutter is a disgrace, and in my opinion he is much worse than John Street. At least Street didn’t have blood on his hands like Mayor “Fire Station Brownouts” does. That being said, when I cast my meaningless vote in November, it won’t be for a third-party reject.

As I was driving down Broad St. last night, I was remarking how the founders of the city must be rolling in their graves.
RT, they can’t be rolling in their graves. That would create a 10.5 earthquake, which would wipe most of us out within 45 miles of the city.
The Bruthas an’Sistahs seem to have Patterson and Philly firmly under control.
Are there people in Philadelphia who feel that the city is not run by Democrats but rather “occupied” by Democrats?
PS: Chicago hasn’t had a Republican Mayor since Prohibition.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Philly? You would never get a job on the tourist board. (Although it probably pays more, in PHILLY, than your current MUCH more dangerous job.)
