The Bipartisan Health Care Summit
By Wyatt Earp | February 25, 2010
Wow, that was the most hypocritical headline I have ever written. President Obama is conducting his “bipartisan” health care summit today, and I have been watching some of the exchanges – so you don’t have to. It’s the sort of meeting you would expect from Obama, chock full of his bloviating and bickering, and the occasional cheap shot.
Well, at least Harry Reid is welcoming Republican input with open arms.
Nice bipartisanship, Harry! Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told attendees today at the bipartisan health care summit that it’s OK to pass Obamacare without the GOP.
Majority Leader Harry Reid maintains Democrats have the right to push their health care plan through Congress without Republican support.
At a bipartisan health care summit Thursday, Reid rejected Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander’s call for a promise from Democrats that they wouldn’t use an unusual move to sidestep a Republican filibuster.
And the most infuriating exchange of the day? The president takes another potshot during this “bipartisan summit.”
12:32pm Eastern. McCain talks about backroom deals. Irritable Obama snaps: “Let me just make this point, because we’re not campaigning anymore, the election’s over.” (McCain: “I’m reminded of that every day.”) O flips papers. Jeers at GOP “talking points.” Gives the ball to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
I’m sorry, but every time our president doesn’t get his way he immediately starts acting like a petulant child.

Didn’t they make a movie about “Baby Boy Syndrome” abit ago? Some Gangsta’s were even wearing pacifiers for awhile as some kind of symbol. Wasn’t that fairly recently? Not that I am saying obambi is a gangsta mind you, a baby yes, gangsta no. Gangsta’s need cajones.
Don’t worry, Harry Reid won’t allow reconciliation to be used to pass Obamacare; he thinks that would be an abuse of power.
I tried watching some of the “summit,” today. My representative was on the panel, but he was just kind of sitting there looking like a notetaker. There was so much arrogance in that room that a psychoanalyst would have put up the gone fishin’ sign.
What were the commiecrats and Obamuslim doing behind the scenes while we were watching this farce?
I heard on the radio today several clips of Obama and Reid and Biden and Hillary all saying that reconciliation was immoral and unjust. Of course that was in 2005 when the Republicans were in the majority.
Jon – And Michelle is in possession of the cojones in that house.
John D – Yeah, when the Dems aren’t in power.
RT – On both sides, but Obama trumps all of them.
Ike – Pulling the other Dems’ strings?
Ingineer66 – Exactly. Now they have no problem with it. Disgusting creatures.
I dealt with some folks from HUD today. After about 30 minutes I told the young man to take some time and reflect on the stupidity of the rule he was explaining (wrongly, it turns out), and ask if he’d want his organization running his health care.
[...] looks at the very different definition of bipartisan that Harry Reid [...]
…the day the magic died…
Or, in the immortal words of B.B. King, “The thrill is gone.”
Dems talked for 114 min, Reps talked for 110 and The One talked for 119. Someone loves the sound of their own voice, obviously. You hit the male on the head with “petulant child.”, by the way.
CP – I’m sure he wouldn’t want them managing his health care.
Bob – The ship has sailed. Good riddance.
MeToo – Thanks. He really does act like an infant sometimes. Hope he’s only a one-termer.
