Happy Birthday, Erik!

Erik on Christmas morning.
The Earp Birthday Week continues. Today is my son Erik’s 6th birthday, and he will most likely be celebrating by jumping off the roof into a snow pile.
You see, Erik is Unbreakable. He’s been seeking out adventure since he started walking. When he was two, he begged me to throw him in the air as high as I could. He leaps from the top of the stairs just to prove he can do it without breaking a leg. He throws himself off of the swing with reckless abandon. In short, he is our very own Evel Knievel. One day,he’ll actually get hurt, but thankfully that day hasn’t come yet.
Today Erik is bringing brownies into his classroom, which has got him excited. He already received one gift – a snowboard – on Saturday so he could use it after the storm. He’ll get the rest today. As always, he gets to pick his birthday dinner, and like his older brother, he chose pancakes. Go figure.

Note to Erik and all birthday celebrating Earps: Convince dear ol’ dad that like Drew Brees you need to visit Disney World. (Legoland won’t be open for another year and a half.)
Well good b’day to Eric. It sounds like you’re raising a future paratrooper there with all that leaping around. I wa that way too, not a roof or tree (within reason) that I wouldn’t blast off of. I hope he doesn’t break anything but anckles and arms and not too badly either.
