Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn: Super Genius!
By Wyatt Earp | November 8, 2009
Tom Coburn is not only a United States Senator, he’s also a medical doctor. So, when he speaks about the dangers of ObamaCare, people should be listening.
And if Senator Coburn has his way, everyone in the U.S. Senate will be listening to him – as he reads the president’s entire health care bill on the Senate floor. Nice!
Thousands of pages takes time to read. This is awesome! Coburn goes old school!
Sen. Tom Coburn, the Oklahoma Republican who developed a close friendship with President Obama when they served together in the Senate, is threatening to have the entire health care bill read on the Senate floor.
Senior Senate Democratic aides had heard Coburn was considering having potentially thousands of pages read aloud in effort to stall passage. “If he did this it would be even outrageous for a guy who’s become known as Dr. No around here,” one of them told POLITICO. (H/T – Stop the ACLU)
Despite the fact that the House voted to mortgage our and our children’s futures last night, there are two things I love about this move. First, it is ballsy, and we need more of that from the GOP. Second, it makes sense, since most senators have admitted they have not read the bill. How can people – yes, I’m talking to you, House of Representatives – vote for or against a bill if they haven’t read it? Hopefully, Coburn will educate them very, very soon, and this monstrosity will never pass the Senate.

Randal – Anything that puts Pelosi and Reid’s panties in a bunch is a good thing, in my opinion.

You know as well as I do, that they will browbeat, threaten, and blackmail them until they pass this POS. Starts packing, I already have someone willing to sponsor me into Canada

That man must be stopped! Allowing Senators to know the contents of a bill before they vote on it is unconscionable. What next, actual debate? This is madness. Sheer madness, I say!
