Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Drops The Ball
By Wyatt Earp | November 4, 2009

Note to people in the public eye: Posting controversial photos of yourself on your stupid Facebook account is a dumb idea at best, and could cost you your job at worst.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Whitney Isleib has inadvertently stepped into a Halloween controversy by reportedly dressing up as soon-to-be incarcerated rapper Lil’ Wayne in black-face.
Photos of the blonde-haired cheerleader turned hip-hop impresario were posted to Facebook and eventually made their way to sports blog Deadspin.com.
Offensive or just plain fun? Dallas fans are split. (LINK)
Personally, I think this is much ado about nothing. This broad is a vapid moron who made a poor choice of a Halloween costume. I don’t think she is a racist – I think she is an idiot. That’s not a crime, but she shouldn’t be surprised if she is cut from the cheerleading squad.
Personally, I like her better when she’s dressed in her work costume:

She’s too dumb to know what she did was wrong. Seriously, Lil’ Wayne for Halloween???? She’s doubly stupid.
Black-face is never a good idea, I guess Whitney missed that Mensa meeting.
But white face on a black guy is OK. Next thing we will not be able to make fun of OJ. At some point, blacks are just going to have to grow a pair just like every Cracker, Coonass, Redneck, Trailer living, Beer swilling White person has had to do.
RT – I agree. Stupid, not malicious.
Mrs. Crankipants – She was washing her hair at the time.
Rob – Wow, that exact description was under my photo in my high school yearbook!
I think the last person to get away with black-face was Bing Crosby in “Holiday Inn”.
So Wyatt was voted Most Likely To Become …good one Wyatt., you cracked me up.
Mrs. Crankipants – His kids wanted to rat him out, but he beat them with a sack of oranges before they could talk.
AJ – Become? No, always was.
From black face to red faced…tsk…tsk.
My thoughts:
- Is this racist? not necessarily. Blackface doesn’t automatically mean racist. From the picture, she is mimicking/mocking Li’l Wayne with some kind of body make-up (not true black face). Lil Wayne is a Grammy award winning rapper, mocking someone successful isn’t automatically racist.
- Did she do this to cast a bad image on blacks? maybe, you can’t tell from the picture. She may be really racist, or she may really like Lil Wayne’s work. (I don’t care enough to know one way or the other)
- Will some people see this as racist? absolutely.
- If she was wearing black face and acting like the black actors from Shirley Temple movies or in a manner that cast blacks as lower intelligence, or all criminals then it would be racist.
- Do the Cowboys have the right to fire someone that acts in a manner the they feel reflects negatively on them? absolutely.
…how ’bout Robert Downey Jr. — in Tropic Thunder (…not really black-face though)
DL474 – She’ll probably show better judgment next year. Well, one would hope.
Rodney – Agreed on all.
