The Barack Obama American Flag
By Wyatt Earp | October 11, 2009

Are you frakkin’ kidding me? There are so many things wrong with this that they are almost impossible to count.
This abomination is brought to us vie eBay, and more specifically, some ridiculous business called Dave’s Flags. Thankfully, there is no “uplifting story of hope” to go along with this disgrace, as the only things listed in the description are the measurements and the link to the site. Of course, the Obama likeness is not only completely disrespectful, it also violates the Flag Code:
Significantly, the Flag Code prohibits using the flag “for any advertising purpose” and also states that the flag “should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use”. Both of these prohibitions are widely flouted, almost always without comment.
Now I know this code is rarely enforced by John Q. Public, but you get the point. Far too many people have fought and died for this country, and the ideals which our flag represents. “Decorating” the flag with someone’s likeness is inappropriate, no matter whose visage happens to adorn it.
I am probably in the minority here, but this item really grinds my gears.

Maybe the Taliban will raise that flag over the forts they capture from the US since the Big O will not send the troops that are needed to hold them.

Now that is one flag that should be burned!

I know of one person who would love it. She has a picture of Obama superimposed over a mountain, with the comment “Heaven Sent” on it.

There is so much wrong with that I don’t even know where to begin. It is disrespectful to every serviceman and woman who has served so that this man could even hold the office of President. eBay as well as the creator of this flag should punished.

Flag code doesn’t apply here, once the stars are removed, it is no longer the American flag…
As much as I hate Obama, it’s only against code to impose his pic ON the flag itself, over the stars and stripes…

The flag is disturbing and kind of creepy to me.
I thought the Obama Pez dispensers were tasteless, until I discovered that someone prints Obama toilet paper. Is there anything this man’s face isn’t on?

Ya know, toilet paper with obama’s face on it is something I could go for…

I guess the “desecration mode” will never end until this monkey is out of the white house.

Texas Fred – What if his image was over 57 stars?
October 12th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
Ingineer66 – Didn’t you hear? The POTUS played golf and basketball this weekend. I guess he was busy mulling over General McChrystal’s suggestions.
J. Biros – Bam!
Doghouse – Oh for Obama’s sake! (Oh, sorry . . .)
Deanna – They should at least take it of the site.
TexasFred – And libs are great at finding the loophole.
Mrs. Crankipants – The small of your back? Heh.
Bob – You read my mind, sir.
RAPH – Well crafted.
MeToo – And they worship the almighty buck . . . and Barack.
Admiral – I wouldn’t use that term, but I get your point.
CM – Heh. Good point.

TexasFred is right… if this is a violation of the flag code then we need to talk to Liberia and Malaysia about the similarities their flag has to ours. I do think the Obama flag is silly, but not illegal.

Why quote federal mandate or protocol when it may contradict the mighty Obamessiah? God, is nothing sacred anymore???

I bet you were fine with Chuck Norris advocating flag desecration, though, right? I bet you were fine when Chuck Norris said that the American flag wasn’t worth flying anymore, right? I bet you were fine when a teabagger website started selling stained American flags for $79.99, right?

General Lee – Liberia. There’s a place we can do without. Heh.
B.A. – Apparently not. Wait until he puts himself on Mount Rushmore.
Bob – Um, no, no, and no. If Norris said that then he is a jackass. Not that I have ever been a fan of the guy anyway – although he was good in DodgeBall. If there is a Tea Party website selling stained flags, they should be shunned as well. I don’t make exceptions for idiocy here, and people from both sides of the political aisle get thoroughly ripped for their incompetence.
You probably should have taken a second to browse through the blog before making blanket statements. It makes you look foolish. Nice try, though.

Did somebody seriously call Obama a monkey? That is unethical.
You know. I think it’s unethical for Obama’s face or any president’s face to be used like this but it’s not because I have a dislike for Obama. I don’t like the megalomanic aspect of it. Plus, Obama didn’t make the flag. That’s the thing about it. Also, this flag is a representation of a likeness to Obama, not Obama. It could be a representation of anybody’s face on there and it would be unethical.
