Appeals Court To Rather: Nice Try

By Wyatt Earp | September 30, 2009

Dan RatherWhat’s the frequency, Kenneth?

Well from here, it looks like Danny Boy has a better chance of scoring with Hayden Panettiere than he does getting one red cent from CBS.

It’s a shame, too, because Rather was a pioneer in the fake news business. Without him, we wouldn’t have The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, or CNN! Oh, what am I thinking? The Daily News is not fake news . . . .

Either way, it’s great that Rather got the shaft on this. He should have been sued for libel, in my opinion.

The disgraced former CBS news anchor has finally been given the heave-ho by an appeals court today. Hopefully now he’ll slither off into obscurity.

Bad news for Dan Rather: His $70 million lawsuit against CBS is no more. In a 19-page decision made public Tuesday, a state appeals court dismissed the legendary newsman’s suit against CBS.

Rather, 77, sued the Tiffany network in 2007 after his career at CBS collapsed in the wake of a “60 Minutes II” report about former President George W.Bush’s Vietnam-era military service.

The report claimed “high-level political influence” kept Bush out of combat by securing him a cushy spot in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. (H/TJammieWearingFool)

If he had ended it there, no one would have blinked. Unfortunately for this tool, he passed off a forged “official” memo as real correspondence. The forgery was uncovered, Bush was re-elected, and we were spared four years John freakin’ Kerry and his harpy wife Teresa.

(Hot Air also giggles about the result HERE.)

I think the video of the ‘throbbing memo’ should be set to the sound effects of the runaway expanding pudding Spanky McFarland was fighting with his broom in Our Gang…”Weeep Wooow”.

Slink Off? That guy is still being paid 6 million dollars a year as a part of his play or pay golden parachute. When we start looking at CEO’s making too much, this guy should be on the list. MUD

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Charles Johnson for exposing Dan (The Fraud) Rather. It’s nice to know that he’ll forever be know as the stain on the sheets of journalistic integrety.

…and that goes for Mary Mapes too.
