Al Franken Awarded Senate Seat

By Wyatt Earp | July 1, 2009

Al FrankenSo, the people of Minnesota have twice now elected a blathering Hollywood buffoon to high office. While the Minnesota Supreme Court’s decision is not surprising, it is very surprising that Democrats in the North Star State would embrace such an unqualified, vile, hate-monger to the United States Senate. Could a Janeane Garofalo congressional run be far behind?

Personally, this would be the equivalent of electing Sean Hannity governor of New York. It’s just a stupid idea.

To no one’s great shock, the Minnesota Supreme Court has rejected Norm Coleman’s appeal of the election contest and awarded the Senate election to Al Franken. The decision, expected last week, stated that Coleman failed to prove that recounting thousands of rejected ballots would have impacted the final results:

“It is U.S. Sen. Al Franken.

The Minnesota Supreme Court today decided that Franken, a Democrat, won the highest number of votes in last year’s U.S. Senate race and deserves a signed election certificate.

The court said that Republican Norm Coleman didn’t prove that a lower court made mistakes requiring a rehearing of the case. Coleman had asked the court to order thousands of rejected absentee ballots counted. He had hoped the counting would allow him to overcome Franken’s 312-vote lead.” (H/THot Air)

The truly sad part of this story is that despite what people thought after the 2000 POTUS election, there is a heaping helping of evidence that Franken actually stole this election, thanks to shenanigans by local election officials and groups like the Franken-embraced ACORN.

Oh well, the Democrats got their wish: A 60-vote filibuster-proof majority. If and when they frak up, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.

I’m going to say it again. ACORN et al., should just keep moving if they come upon my house or mailbox. If they approach me with a different name, I’ll ask them to please wait until I can verify. ACORN/Census? Will never be accurate. I will “sigh” with relief when Obama begins to enjoy his post presidential activities in 2012. Also, as far as changing amendment 22 of our Constitution? Aint gonna happen unless the left is prepared for just one battle that will make the Civil War look like a tea party and I’m a moderate but I’m also done with what’s going on.

General Betray Us? Yeah and we have that little thing called the military that is fed up as well.

    Reid: The war is lost
Murtha: Our troops are murdering women and children
Obama: We can’t have our troops busting in at night terrorizing and murdering these good folks.

Yeah uh huh…..think long and hard on this because once the American people are riled, it ends only one way. “The Will of the People”.

Oh hey Smiley. Good luck whack-a-doo

Why, because you can’t walk 10 feet in MN without tripping over a bag of “missing” ballots (all for Franken, of course)? That could just as easily be proof that the people running the electoral process in predominantly Franken-leaning districts are incredibly incompetent.

I’m wondering how long it’ll take for buyer’s remorse to set in up there.

I predict a voter backlash in Minnesota.

MissLiz – Look at the bright side: It’ll be great watching this tool make an ass out of himself.

John D – Probably already has.

What an interesting thing politics is, more like a bad comedy everyday.

MissLiz: a government that truly limits discussion and dissension thusly leaves only one option open: insurrection. I suspect that comprises at least a portion of Mr Obama’s stance on the removal of the Honduras PRESIDENT from office by force.

And hopefully, come 2010 and 2012, the Democrats will get what’s coming to them for their frakking up things.

Jon – Fido is a very smart dog.

Admiral – It’s like an Al Franken sketch. Not funny.

GroovyVic – Thought you’d like that.

BZ – Selective outrage. Nothing on Iran. Lots on Honduras. Swell.

Morgan – I’d like to hope so, but don’t see any good POTUS candidates coming out of the GOP.
