A Man Walks Into A Prison With Cocaine

By Wyatt Earp | July 14, 2009

Randall SOMMOVILLASounds like the beginning of a very bad joke, right? Sadly, this is yet another story of a Philadelphia lawyer “working overtime” for his client.

These stories would be funny if they weren’t so tragic. This man is an absolute disgrace, and he probably fought tooth and nail to get a Not Guilty verdict. Funny how things work out in the end, huh?

A Philadelphia attorney is on the wrong side of the law after being arrested for drug smuggling charges.

Randall Sommovilla, 61, was caught trying to bring packets of heroin and cocaine into the Delaware County prison Friday night.

Prosecutors say he was bringing the drugs to inmate, Amber Knox. The drugs were detected by a correctional officer during a routine scan.

So, a lawyer is caught bringing narcotics in for a female client. Hmm, would it be inappropriate to suggest that these two have a very special “lawyer/client privilege?” I wonder.

Correctional and K9 officers also found drugs in Sommovilla’s car. (H/TCBS3)

Unbelievable. Attention Philadelphia criminals: Please hire Mr. Sommovilla as soon as possible! Our D.A.’s could really benefit from the resulting clearance rates.

I believe the bar association refers to this as “The Attorney’s Fee Alternate Payment Plan.”

“Sounds like the beginning of a very bad joke, right?”

Yeah, but it’d be even funnier if it had a rabbi.

    MeToo – Who doesn’t??? Oh, I’ve said too much . . .

Doghouse – Just don’t ask him where he swipes his credit card.

John D – Well played, sir.

Admiral – Especially from someone who should know the damned law!

The Girl – Heh, heh, “get off.”

Rick – I’ll second that emotion.

Mrs. Crankipants – Of course. You living in that liberal Utopia and all. :)
